Top nurse For Erica Belvin (above), coming home actually means going to work at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, where she is a nurse. Her love of her job was one of the reasons Belvin earned the 2018 Nurse of Excellence Award on May 22. She was selected by her peers during National Nurses’ Week. “We laugh, we work hard and we achieve goals together as a team,” Belvin said. “Good days and bad days, we build each other up. Patient care is the center of our work and we achieve that every day. I enjoy everyone that I come across each day.”

Not so secret agent Laura Naese (above), an agent with Michael Saunders & Co. in Lakewood Ranch, was one of 23 of the company’s agents who took part in “Every Child a Reader” week in April. The agents were guest readers in 162 classrooms in Manatee County. “Taking time to read with the kids and encouraging a skill that will help them in the future was an amazing experience,” Naese said. The event was done in partnership with Bradenton Kiwanis and the Early Learning Coalition.
