Adopt me, please! Some of the newest — and cutest — faces at Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue would have accents if only they could speak. The nonprofit on Oct. 26 accepted 24 dogs and cats from St. Croix that had been displaced by Hurricane Maria and were being cared for by the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The animals, after completing a successful quarantine, should be available for adoption in about a week, said Karen Slomba, associate director of Nate’s.
