She can paint with bare hands Greenbrook 9-year-old Sophia Freeman normally draws “simple” animals, such as cats and dogs. However, she showed what she could do with her bare hands July 14 while attending camp at Let’s Create Art Lakewood Ranch. She painted a bear that was stenciled on her canvas. “I really liked doing the bear project,” she said. “It was my first time painting a bear.”

Hunt begins for geckos When Robert E. Willis Elementary School students return in August, they’ll enter a jungle in the cafeteria. They can spend time hunting for eight little geckos Tara Young, a parent of a rising third grader and rising kindergartner, painted in the new mural in the cafeteria. “It’s something they can enjoy while they’re eating,” said Young, who finished the mural July 15.
