Charity effort to tweet about When Legacy Golf Club Head Professional Wendi Patterson, PGA Member Golf Professional Jeff Boudrie (both shown above), current professional Ricky Hendler and former pro Mike Harris teed off at Legacy on July 13 in Lakewood Ranch, they had a different kind of number in mind. The major score involved dollars. The four played a scramble to raise money for area charities that have been impacted by the pandemic. They solicited pledges from the community that were based off their ability to make birdies in an event they called Birdie-A-Thon. The group raised about $2,500 by scoring 21 under par on the course with three eagles and 15 birdies.

This chase requires wings Greenbrook 4-year-old Maxwell Stewart tiptoed on the gravel at the Community Butterfly Garden at Summerfield Park on July 13 as he approached a fluttering monarch butterfly. “I’m going to catch a butterfly,” Stewart said as he quietly approached a plant with a butterfly resting on a leaf. Before Stewart could even cup his hands, the butterfly flew away. Stewart (above) decided it was fun just looking at them.
