In the mood for something new Two to three times per week, 1-year-old twins Scarlett and Sloan Heim follow their nanny, Stephanie Duffill, on a walk them from their Greenbrook home to R. Dan Nolan Middle School. When area playgrounds were shut down during the pandemic, Duffill and the Heim twins began hiking instead. Their change in habit also led to a new activity. “Normally, we go to play groups, but since we can’t, we walk to the school and talk to the cows,” said Duffill, above with Scarlett and Sloan. “We find what we can for entertainment.”

Ready for another round Lendi Cochran was happy to be back at work as a bartender June 5 at Naughty Monk Brewery. She was laid off after the bars were forced to shut down due to COVID-19. They were allowed to reopen at 50% capacity June 5. “It’s a step in the right direction,” Cochran said. “It’s progress. We were overlooked in the first stages [of reopening], but the Bartenders’ Guild fought for us to open.”
