Special delivery GreyHawk Landing’s Danielle and Andy Delk had a special gift to ring in the new year. Prescott John Delk (above) was born at 1:34 a.m. Jan. 2 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Prescott’s debut marked the first birth of 2020 at the hospital. “It was a huge surprise,” Danielle Delk said. “He wasn’t due until Jan. 11. We thought maybe it was one of those false labor trips.” Proud big brother is Ayden Delk, 16. He is a junior at Lakewood Ranch High School.

Artsy end to break As a final fun activity before going back to school, Kiona’lei Vance, 6, painted an owl during a winter break camp Jan. 6 at Let’s Create Art. Vance carefully painted the pointy ears of her owl light green. The projects during the camp included painting Sven from Disney’s “Frozen,” a penguin, a fox and a wintry gnome. “I like staying in the lines and mixing the colors,” she said. After a two-week break, Vance said she was excited to return to Tara Elementary School Jan. 7 to see her friends.
