HIBIKI

HIBIKI X HIROSHI SENJU A R T

I N

H A R M O N Y

The House of Suntory has unveiled a rare collector’s collaboration uniting its iconic Hibiki whisky with the poetic vision of acclaimed Japanese painter Hiroshi Senju. Created for two of Hibiki’s most coveted expressions - 21-Year-Old and 30-Year-Old - the partnership reimagines the relationship between whisky, nature and art through a limited-edition presentation conceived as a work of art in its own right. At the heart of the collaboration lies Senju’s monumental painting Waterfall on Colors “Hibiki”, inspired by the brand’s signature kokimurasaki hue. Ten nuanced shades of purple flow across the composition, echoing Hibiki’s noble origins and its reverence for harmony. Senju’s technique - using water, natural marble powder and gravity itself to guide the pigments - mirrors the whisky-maker’s respect for natural processes and quiet mastery. For the Hibiki 21-Year-Old, the waterfall motif adorns both label and presentation box, reflecting the whisky’s seamless balance and elegance. The Hibiki 30-Year-Old is elevated to a true objet d’art, housed within a traditional byōbu-style multipanel display, complete with a reflective base and etched Hibiki emblem - an embodiment of miyabi, the Japanese ideal of refined beauty.

This visual poetry frames whiskies of exceptional depth. Hibiki 21-Year-Old reveals a blossoming roundness layered with honeycomb, sandalwood and dried apricot, finishing with a lingering incense-like grace drawn from Mizunara oak. The 30-Year-Old unfolds with resonant notes of brown sugar, dried fig, gingerbread and apricot jam, its finish rich, warm and profoundly elegant. Like Hibiki itself, Hiroshi Senju’s work bridges tradition and modernity. His paintings - held in institutions from the V&A to the Metropolitan Museum of Art - share a philosophy of balance between humanity and the natural world. Together, whisky and art form a lasting tribute to Japanese craftsmanship, where beauty is found not in excess, but in harmony.

YOUR LUXURY

A Celebration of Craft, H eritage and P ersonal Expression Montblanc Unveils the Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition In an inspired meeting of two legendary maisons, Montblanc and Ferrari unveil the first chapter of a new trilogy that honours the art of personal expression. The Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition is more than a writing instrument - it is a tribute to bespoke craftsmanship, heritage design, and the deeply human desire to create objects that reflect the individuality of their owners. This latest collaboration deepens a creative partnership that began in 2021 with the Great Characters Enzo Ferrari edition, a tribute to the visionary who built Ferrari into a global symbol of excellence. Two years later came the strikingly aerodynamic Stilema SP3 concept, influenced by the sculptural forms and engineering prowess of Ferrari’s Daytona SP3 and introducing an innovative new filling mechanism to the world of fine writing. The renewed Enzo Ferrari edition in “Giallo Modena” set the tone for 2025 - and now Montblanc and Ferrari join forces once more, this time to celebrate the joy of customisation itself. At the heart of this new trilogy lies the Ferrari Tailor Made programme - the marque’s most exclusive experience, inviting clients to craft a car that mirrors their personality in every detail. It is a realm where colour palettes, materials, finishes and tactile nuances converge to form a singular expression of identity. Customers draw inspiration from three creative universes - Classica, Inedita and Scuderia - distinct aesthetic vocabularies that guide the transformation of a Ferrari into a personal masterpiece. This very spirit, rooted in individuality and craft, aligns seamlessly with Montblanc’s world of writing culture, where the act of putting pen to paper becomes an expression of character, intention and self. The Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition brings these realms together with immaculate sophistication. The first edition in the series explores Classica, a design world that reimagines the colours and textures of Ferrari’s iconic GT cars from the 1950s and 1960s - an era defined by artisanal coachbuilding and the brand’s early pursuit of aerodynamic beauty. Tailor Made clients who choose Classica may opt for

heritage leather interiors, lustrous chrome accents or periodcorrect paint tones, infusing their car with the spirit of Ferrari’s formative decades. Montblanc captures this evocative aesthetic with a writing instrument that pairs the timeless Meisterstück silhouette first introduced in 1924 - with elements distilled from Ferrari’s vintage GTs. A finely crafted mahogany barrel, inlaid with a bold lacquer stripe, recalls the warm tactility of classic Ferrari steering wheels. Platinum-coated metalwork references the gleam of polished chrome, while a cross-hatched texture on the forepart, cone and cap top echoes the metal spokes of those early steering wheels. Subtle yet resonant emblems tie the piece to both its creators: the Prancing Horse discreetly positioned on the barrel, and the Montblanc emblem on the cap in a vibrant shade of yellow - a refined homage to Modena, birthplace of the Ferrari saga. At the tip, the handcrafted Au 750 solid-gold nib, finished in rhodium and engraved with a cross-hatched circle surrounding the Montblanc emblem, brings the narrative full circle. Its meticulous detailing mirrors the artisanal shaping of midcentury Ferrari body panels - each one hand-beaten into form by master craftsmen. The Meisterstück Great Masters Ferrari Tailor Made Classica Special Edition stands at the intersection of two worlds shaped by passion, precision and heritage. It is a writing instrument that captures the emotional resonance of Ferrari’s golden age while upholding Montblanc’s uncompromising standards of craftsmanship. Available as both fountain pen and rollerball, it offers a refined medium through which individuality may be expressed - not only on the road, but in the lines, thoughts and stories committed to paper. This first chapter of the Tailor Made trilogy is now available at Montblanc boutiques worldwide, selected Ferrari boutique locations and online - an invitation to collectors and connoisseurs to experience a collaboration in which heritage is not merely preserved, but reimagined for a new generation of creators.

BREITLING

Golden Hour B R E I T L I N G’ S R A D I A N T H O L I D AY C A P S U L E C O L L E C T I O N As winter approaches and the world begins its annual ritual of celebration, Breitling marks the season with a luminous gesture: a limited-edition Gold Capsule Collection that transforms five of its most celebrated models into objects of warm, radiant opulence. Crafted entirely in 18k red gold, these special editions three Navitimers and two Premiers - bring together dial colours, materials, and movements never before paired, resulting in a suite of watches that feels both deeply rooted in heritage and thrillingly new. Available only through select boutiques and breitling.com, the capsule is as exclusive as it is emotive. Breitling has long been a master of bridging past and future, drawing on a catalogue abundant with icons while subtly evolving design codes for the modern wrist. This holiday collection embodies that balance to perfection. Full-gold watches possess an unmistakable presence: their weight a quiet reminder of their preciousness, their glow both commanding and refined. In red gold - the brand’s chosen alloy for this capsule - that glow softens into a warm, sophisticated tone capable of elevating both a black-tie ensemble and the relaxed textures of winter cashmere.

Georges Kern, Breitling’s CEO, notes that the charm of the Navitimer and Premier lies in their universality: instantly recognisable yet endlessly expressive. In this collection, their familiar silhouettes become canvases for unusual colour palettes and luxurious surface treatments, appealing equally to seasoned collectors and those seeking an unforgettable entry point into the world of Breitling. It is the Navitimer that leads this golden procession - a watch whose silhouette is woven through the history of flight. Born in 1952 as a pilot’s wrist computer, with its circular slide rule and distinctive profile, the Navitimer soon transcended cockpit functionality to become a style icon worn by musicians, racing legends, and even astronauts. In this capsule, the Chronograph 41 emerges with a deep brown dial offset by crisp white subdials, each framed by a red-gold case that glows like whisky in lamplight. The open caseback reveals the Manufacture Calibre 01, its skeletonised red-gold rotor shimmering with Geneva stripes. Alongside it, the Automatic 36 appears as a jewelled jewel of breitling.com

YOUR WATCH clarity, its green dial and matching slide rule creating a single plane of tonal elegance. And finally, the Navitimer 32 - the smallest of the trio - offers understated glamour through a brown dial set with diamond hour markers, paired with a slim red-gold case powered by Breitling’s precise SuperQuartz™ movement. If the Navitimer captures the romance of the skies, the Premier evokes life at ground level - cosmopolitan comfort, impeccable taste, and the elegance of the everyday. First introduced in the 1940s, the Premier was conceived as a reflection of refinement at a moment when the world sought beauty again. The new Premier B01 Chronograph 42 elevates this legacy with a midnight-blue dial that seems to absorb and reflect light with equal intention, its chronograph counters tone-on-tone, its hands and indexes glowing in red-gold warmth. Its counterpart, the manually wound Premier B09 Chronograph 40, is both slimmer and more classically proportioned, with a dark green dial that calls to mind racing cars and lacquered leather - a refined study in modern vintage. What these five watches share - beyond their precious metal and limited nature - is a sense of intention. Every detail feels meticulously considered, from the carefully matched alligator straps to the interplay of brushed and polished surfaces across the cases. Together, they form a capsule that speaks to the heart of gift-giving season: rare, expressive, and crafted to be cherished for decades. For enthusiasts, these models represent the opportunity to own a fleeting chapter in Breitling’s evolution. For newcomers, they offer a chance to step into the brand at its most radiant and expressive. All five references are produced in extremely limited quantities and will not be repeated in this configuration, ensuring their place as future treasures. Arriving in early December, the Gold Capsule Collection feels perfectly timed - not just for the holidays, but for the quiet, contemplative glow of winter, when the world seems to slow and the appreciation of beauty becomes sharper. In these watches, Breitling has distilled the season’s warmth, its brilliance, and its spirit of celebration into gold itself.

PRIMALUNA A NEW DAWN FOR A MODERN CLASSIC

Since its debut in 2009, Longines’ PrimaLuna has been one of the Maison’s most poetic signatures - a collection that marries

brand’s refined moonphase movement introduced earlier this year - ensuring the beauty of the dial is matched by mechanical

feminine elegance with the quiet romance of lunar cycles. In 2025, the line underwent a transformative redesign, refining its silhouette, elevating its mechanics, and reaffirming its role as the brand’s emblem of soft sophistication. Now, Longines continues that evolution with a series of alluring new expressions that broaden both the aesthetic and technical vocabulary of the PrimaLuna while staying true to its celestial inspiration. The latest additions shine with a renewed sense of artistry. Most notably, Longines introduces the centuries-old cloisonné technique to the collection’s 34 mm moonphase models, pairing an age-defying craft with the shimmering natural beauty of mother-of-pearl. Each dial begins with fine metal wires, bent and arranged by hand to form delicate partitions that frame pockets of luminous colour. Into these compartments, iridescent blue or vivid green mother-of-pearl is carefully set, creating a sense of depth and motion that transforms the moonphase complication into an ornamental tableau. Beneath this artistry beats the exclusive Longines automatic calibre L899.5 - the

substance. Alongside these decorative marvels, PrimaLuna expands into new horological territory with fresh three-hand automatic models. Powered by the calibre L888.5, they offer a purer, more streamlined expression of timekeeping, one that emphasises clarity and proportional harmony within the collection’s signature 34 mm diameter. With a silicon balance spring, anti-magnetic components, and a 72-hour power reserve, the movement is a testament to Longines’ commitment to elevating everyday elegance through technical excellence. These models, understated yet commanding, reaffirm that refinement need not be elaborate to feel luxurious. For those who gravitate toward minimalism in scale, Longines introduces new 30mm quartz references that reinterpret PrimaLuna’s elegance in a more delicate footprint. Powered by the L257.2 calibre, these pieces stay faithful to the family’s softly rounded case and seamless bracelet design while embracing a modern palette drawn from the season’s fashion houses. The mint-blue and lavender-mauve sunray dials are particularly captivating, each one animated by 15 diamond indexes that catch and scatter light with a subtle sparkle. They reflect not only shifting trends but also the expressive, confident mood defining this season’s approach to colour. Across all variations - whether adorned in cloisonné, animated by moon phases, driven by mechanical precision, or glowing in seasonal hues - the PrimaLuna remains unmistakably itself. Its curves retain the lunar inspiration that gave the line its name; its details express a consistent philosophy of grace; its spirit feels contemporary while rooted in the traditions of Swiss watchmaking. What these new interpretations reveal is a collection capable of continually reinventing itself without losing the quiet poetry of its origins. PrimaLuna’s elegance lies not in extravagance, but in the thoughtful balance of form, craft, and emotion. And as Longines expands the collection once more, it becomes clear that the PrimaLuna is not just a watch; it is a reflection of the Maison’s belief that elegance - true elegance - is an attitude. longines.com

PANERAI

LUMINOR CERAMICA PANERAI UNVEILS THE FIRST EVER 40MM LUMINOR IN CERAMIC

Panerai opens a new chapter in the history of the Luminor with the unveiling of the Luminor GMT Ceramica PAM01460 - the first time the Maison has ever combined its emblematic 40mm Luminor case with high-tech ceramic. More than a simple evolution of a classic, the PAM01460 represents Panerai’s continued mastery of material innovation and the modern reinterpretation of its unmistakable Italian design codes. For a model so deeply rooted in professional instrument watchmaking, the transition to a 40mm ceramic construction feels both daring and inevitable. It distils the power of the Luminor silhouette - the bold geometry, the famed crownprotecting device, the luminous sandwich dial - into a more versatile, contemporary proportion. The result is a watch that channels Panerai’s rugged spirit while seamlessly complimenting a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Jérôme Cavadini, Panerai’s Chief Operating Officer, frames the PAM01460 as a statement of intent: “This timepiece reflects our commitment to pushing the limits of technical innovation while honouring the functional legacy of the Luminor. Introducing a 40mm ceramic case - and pairing it with a striking all-black aesthetic - marks an important milestone in our hightech manufacturing capabilities. It is engineered for the traveller and designed for those who appreciate refinement anchored in performance.” Ceramic has long been one of Panerai’s most revered materials, earning its place within the Maison’s portfolio for its resilience, lightness, and unmistakable modernity. Since debuting in 2007 with the Radiomir Black Seal Ceramica, the material has become synonymous with Panerai’s ability to

transform advanced technologies into objects of enduring style. Resistant to extreme temperatures, corrosion, and scratches, ceramic offers a visual depth and tactile refinement that steel cannot replicate - and Panerai’s expertise allows it to sculpt this notoriously challenging material into the Luminor’s curving, architectural form. Nowhere is that mastery more evident than in the PAM01460’s case construction. The signature crown guard and lever, the rounded surfaces, the water-resistant architecture - all are meticulously engineered in ceramic, maintaining the Luminor’s robust performance standards. Water resistance reaches an impressive 30 bar (300 meters), each watch tested to pressures 25% beyond the stated guarantee. Behind the scenes, extensive R&D has reinforced the lugs, often the most vulnerable point in ceramic watch design, ensuring they meet Panerai’s stringent shock-resistance criteria. The aesthetic is pure, disciplined drama: a 40mm matte black ceramic case paired with a sun-brushed black sandwich dial, where crisp Super-LumiNova® X2 numerals and markers glow with decisive clarity. The only touch of ornamentation is the word “BiTempo”, a subtle homage to Panerai’s Italian heritage and the watch’s GMT function. Inside, the PAM01460 is powered by the P.900/GMT calibre, a slim, meticulously constructed automatic movement known for its reliability and three-day power reserve. Viewed through a smoked sapphire crystal caseback, the movement reveals its refined proportions: 12½ lignes across and just 5.20 mm thick, driven by a bidirectional oscillating weight feeding a single barrel. The balance wheel beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, secured beneath a balance cock for durability and precision. A stop-seconds function allows exact timesetting, while the 12-hour GMT complication - a nod to early-2000s Panerai design - brings practical utility to global travellers. The watch is delivered with both a supple black calf leather strap and an additional black rubber option, each equipped with the PAM Click Release System™, allowing owners to change straps in seconds without tools - a thoughtful touch for a model designed to transition effortlessly between environments and styles. The Luminor GMT Ceramica PAM01460 stands as a refined evolution of one of watchmaking’s most recognisable designs. It is bold yet quiet, purposeful yet elegant - an all-black interpretation of the Luminor that captures Panerai’s heritage while pushing the collection decisively into its next era. panerai.com

In a fusion of geometric elegance and mechanical virtuosity, Jaeger-LeCoultre reveals its latest masterpiece: the Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179, now reinterpreted in deep black lacquer framed by the warm glow of pink gold. Limited to just ten pieces worldwide, this precious iteration elevates the Maison’s most daring dual-faced complication into the realm of wearable sculpture. Born in 1931 to withstand the demands of polo fields in British India, the Reverso has become one of the most iconic designs in watchmaking - a symbol of Art Deco purity and technical ingenuity. Yet even within this storied lineage, the Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 stands apart. It embodies the audacity of the Hybris philosophy: a pursuit of creative “excess,” where watchmaking innovation meets the highest forms of artisanal expression. At the heart of this extraordinary timepiece beats Calibre 179, the fourth evolution of JaegerLeCoultre’s legendary Gyrotourbillon. Crafted in ultra-light titanium, the inner cage performs a continuous 360-degree rotation every 16 seconds, while a peripheral carriage completes its stately revolution once per minute. Suspended on a halo of ball bearings, the flying tourbillon appears to levitate between the watch’s two dials - a kinetic sculpture animated by gravity itself. Paired with the Reverso’s patented Duoface mechanism, the movement displays a second time zone and a 24-hour indicator on the reverse side, ensuring that this creation is not only intellectually breathtaking, but supremely functional. This new interpretation introduces an arresting aesthetic: black hand-applied lacquer, meticulously executed on both faces. The monochromatic palette - a nod to the Reverso’s original Art Deco roots - forms a striking contrast with the satin warmth of the 18K pink gold case, bridges, and decorative plates. The front dial reveals an intricate tapestry of ultra-fine gold ribs, each separated by 200 individually hollowed depressions, laser-cut with astonishing precision. Into each of these cavities, a single artisan

YOUR WATCH applies rich layers of lacquer by hand, polishing them to a mirror-like finish. Only three craftsmen within the Manufacture possess the skill to perform this technique - a rarity befitting a watch of such exclusivity. On the reverse, black lacquer accentuates the openworked hours-minutes ring, highlighting the architectural play of structures, shadows, and surfaces. The contrast between laser-skeletonised forms and hand-finished chamfers speaks to the Manufacture’s seamless integration of technology and tradition. Though comprising 382 components, the watch maintains an elegant profile at 13.63mm thick - a triumph for a complication of this magnitude. The iconic Reverso case retains its harmonious proportions, punctuated by polished gadroons and a deeply engraved sunray motif hidden within the swivel cradle. Its adjustable pink gold folding clasp, itself a miniature engineering marvel of 46 components, allows fine comfort adjustments to the nearest 0.5 millimetre - an unassuming yet deeply luxurious detail. The Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 is an embodiment of the 180 métiers housed under one roof at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s historic Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux. From micro-painting and enamelling to laser precision and advanced micromechanics, each discipline contributes to the creation of a timepiece that transcends traditional definitions of horology. It is not merely a watch. It is a piece of mechanical architecture - a dialogue between heritage and innovation, symmetry and motion, matter and light. The Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 stands as one of the most emotionally compelling expressions of the Reverso’s timeless spirit to date.

HOMMAGE L A

P L A C I D E

In a limited series of just 28 pieces, Roger Dubuis unveils Hommage La Placide - a creation that carries its wearer across three decades of watchmaking history, reinterpreting the Maison’s earliest inspirations through the lens of contemporary haute horlogerie. More than a commemorative edition, it is a deeply personal tribute to the Geneva founder whose vision reshaped modern mechanical watchmaking. At the heart of each timepiece beats the Calibre RD1472, an extraordinary fusion of original and newly remanufactured components. Its architecture bridges past and present, a celebration of the Maison’s mechanical legacy and its uncompromising pursuit of innovation. The series mirrors the spirit of the recently unveiled Excalibur Monobalancier Biretrograde Calendar - two modern tributes bound by the biretrograde display so intrinsic to Roger Dubuis’ identity. The original Hommage, launched in 1996, was Roger Dubuis’ heartfelt salute to the watchmakers, mentors and friends who shaped his career. For this anniversary edition, the Maison turned that tribute inward, honouring the man himself. La Placide - the name taken from Roger Dubuis’ childhood scouting nickname - captures the quiet composure, wisdom and meticulous temperament that he brought to every creation. The watch combines his beloved Perpetual Calendar complication with the distinctive biretrograde display, woven together with a reverence for restoration and expressive aesthetics. To begin this renaissance, the Maison revived the original RD14, its inaugural in-house automatic movement introduced in 2004. Each calibre underwent full diagnostics, testing and restoration - an exercise in mechanical archaeology that returned them to their original brilliance. The RD14’s traditional swan-neck regulator, admired for its precision and decorative refinement, remains intact. So too do the original in-house balance springs that once earned the Maison its status as an official manufacture. Recalibrated gear trains and repositioned wheel axes enhance performance, subtly advancing the movement without compromising its soul. The restored RD14 base was then paired with the RD72 module, first introduced in 1999 and known for its elegant Perpetual Calendar. Day, date, month, leap year and moonphase indicators merge through a sophisticated interplay of gears and star-shaped wheels - one with 12 teeth, the other with 48 - to allow two co-axial hands to record the passage of both month and leap year. To achieve this, the Maison had to re-engineer half of the

module’s components, including plates, bridges, wheels and levers - all crafted in-house, a testament to its integrated savoirfaire. Only once before have the RD14 and RD72 been united. Their reunion culminates in the RD1472, the heart of the new Hommage La Placide. Comprising 307 components and crowned with a newly crafted 18-carat pink gold rotor, the movement is an exhibition of Geneva craftsmanship at its most elevated. No fewer than 15 traditional finishing techniques adorn its surfaces - circular graining, Geneva stripes, bevelled wheels, mirror polishing, perlage, frosting and more. True to Roger Dubuis’ standards, the calibre meets the evolved requirements of the Poinçon de Genève, now applied to the entire watch rather than the movement alone. Setting the calibre with the precision required by the modern Seal represents a final flourish of mastery from the Maison’s artisans. The dial of the Hommage La Placide is a miniature tapestry of depth and detail. The signature biretrograde scales - broad at the outer arc, narrowing inward - mirror their earliest appearance in 1995. Five distinct layers define the composition: A rhodium-coated circular-brushed flange with polished angles and printed numerals; mother-of-pearl calendar arcs with handbevelled edges; a lacquered main plate in Leman Blue, evoking Lake Geneva’s waters as seen from the founder’s student train rides; mother-of-pearl counters with a broad brushed finish; and a moonphase rendered in blue aventurine with curved 18-carat yellow gold moons The watch is housed in a 38mm case of 18-carat pink gold and paired with an interchangeable blue leather strap bearing Roger Dubuis’ original emblem on the buckle. Both the Hommage La Placide and the Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar stand as twin pillars of the Maison’s 30th anniversary - creations that honour Roger Dubuis’ enduring vision, celebrating the biretrograde artistry that has become so closely associated with the brand. As a gesture of appreciation, all existing Hommage owners are invited to visit any Roger Dubuis boutique worldwide to receive a complimentary Hommage strap crafted for their original timepiece - an offering that reinforces the Maison’s deep respect for its earliest patrons. Hommage La Placide is not merely a commemorative edition; it is the continuation of a story - one defined by excellence, expressivity and the quiet brilliance of the man whose legacy still guides the Maison’s hand.

VACHERON CONSTANTIN

A UNIVERSE ON THE WRIST Vacheron Constantin’s Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication

In the rarefied world of haute horlogerie, few creations transcend craftsmanship to become philosophical objects timepieces that do more than measure hours; they attempt to interpret the cosmos itself. With its two new pièces uniques - the Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication, Homage to Ptolemy and Homage to Copernicus - Vacheron Constantin achieves precisely that. These watches are not merely mechanical achievements; they are meditations on humanity’s centuries-long quest to understand the universe. Unveiled as part of the Maison’s 270th anniversary, the pair form the pinnacle of La Quête, a series devoted to astronomy and the spirit of early discoveries. This is a story not only of engineering but of philosophy - of how civilisations modelled the heavens, drew meaning from the sky, and redefined humanity’s place within it. The watches honour two of history’s greatest

astronomers, whose opposing visions once altered the course of scientific thought. In the second century, Ptolemy imagined a universe with Earth fixed at the centre, the sun and planets performing an elegant dance around it. More than a millennium later, Copernicus reignited a dormant idea - that the sun, rather than Earth, anchors the celestial system - and in doing so ushered in the dawn of modern astronomy. Vacheron Constantin gives each of these cosmologies physical form, translating ancient theories into gold, engraving, and mechanical precision. Though the two pieces differ in narrative and aesthetic, they are united by an extraordinary heart: Calibre 3600, one of the most complex mechanical movements ever created by the Maison. Developed over five years, this hand-wound engine comprises 514 components and brings together 23 astronomical complications with masterful clarity. Remarkably, it achieves

vacheron-constantin.com

YOUR WATCH this within an architecture just 8.7 millimetres thick, a feat of miniaturisation that stands as a technical triumph in its own right. Slip either watch onto the wrist and the poetry of the mechanism begins. The Celestia does not limit itself to a single understanding of time; instead, it offers three simultaneous readings - civil, solar, and sidereal - each with its own gear train. Civil time anchors the familiar, measured by graceful, openworked hands. Solar time, however, introduces a far more elusive rhythm: the natural progression of the sun as it reaches its zenith each day. Because Earth’s orbit and axial tilt shift this passage by minutes throughout the year, the watch incorporates a running equation of time, displaying at every moment whether solar time runs ahead of or behind mean time. The indication is elegant in its simplicity - a sun-tipped hand that moves in quiet harmony or divergence from the civil time hand - yet profoundly complex in its execution. Turn the watch over and the heavens reveal themselves again, this time through an extraordinary sidereal display. A pair of sapphire discs - one fixed, one rotating slightly faster than civil time - recreates the movement of the stars as they appear from Earth’s northern hemisphere. Constellations, the Milky Way, the celestial equator, the ecliptic, and the shifting night sky appear in perpetual motion, framed by a calendar scale and a delicate yellow pointer that marks the date. In a world where digital screens simulate the universe, this mechanical tableau feels almost sacred. The astronomical depth continues across the dial. A perpetual calendar programmed until the year 2100 shares space with an age-of-the-moon display and a precision moon phase requiring adjustment only once every 122 years. Sunrise and sunset times, the length of day and night, zodiac signs, seasons, solstices, and equinoxes each find their place within the composition. At eleven o’clock,

a rare complication - a mareoscope - adds yet another layer of cosmic poetry: a tidal display showing not only the amplitude of tides but the spatial relationship of Earth, Moon, and Sun, the celestial trio that governs the oceans. If the front of each watch is an ode to complication, the case itself becomes the stage for Vacheron Constantin’s métiers d’art. The Maison’s master engraver transforms the gold surfaces into astronomical sculptures, employing the delicate champlevé technique to carve planetary orbits, celestial rays, and textured cosmic backgrounds into caseband, bezel, lugs, and crown. In the Ptolemy model, Earth rests at the centre of a meticulously engraved planisphere whose orbits sweep uninterrupted across the curves of the case. In the Copernicus version, the Sun radiates from the crown, its rays extending outward as the planets move around it in perfect, polished relief. Each engraving - a process requiring 240 hours of dedicated work - displays a mastery of depth, symmetry, and contrast on surfaces so small they challenge the limits of human dexterity. This interplay of science and art is framed within a 45 mm gold case - white gold for Ptolemy, warm 5N pink gold for Copernicus - paired with a dark blue alligator strap that echoes the night sky. Despite its staggering

vacheron-constantin.com

21

VACHERON CONSTANTIN mechanical complexity, the case remains elegant in profile, reinforcing the Maison’s age-old philosophy that sophistication need never sacrifice refinement. Christian Selmoni, Director of Style and Patrimony, describes these creations as milestones in the Maison’s long relationship with astronomy. They are the natural evolution of a lineage that includes the legendary Reference 57260 and the original 2017 Celestia. Yet what truly sets these new watches apart is their ability to weave history, theory, craftsmanship, and mechanism into a coherent and emotionally resonant object. They are instruments of time, yes - but also instruments of perspective.

For Vacheron Constantin, celebrating a 270-year legacy means more than honouring the past. It means continuing a quest that began in Geneva in 1755 - a quest for excellence in craft, beauty, and innovation. These two new Celestia pièces uniques embody that pursuit with extraordinary conviction. They remind us that time is not merely divided into hours, minutes, and seconds; it is written in the movement of planets, the shifting of seasons, the sweep of tides, and the eternal dance of the night sky. In bringing Ptolemy and Copernicus to the wrist, Vacheron Constantin offers not just watches, but fully realised universes - miniature cosmologies where history, craftsmanship, and the infinite converge.

REJUVENATE & HYDRATE with Newest DermaFocus If your skin has begun to look lacklustre, dull and dehydrated in recent months, it’s time to give it an extra boost. Loved by A-list celebrities including Sophie Habboo, Katie Piper and Jennifer Aniston, polynucleotides have become a trending treatment offering skin firmness, elasticity and some extra rejuvenation for an overall youthful appearance. Advancing the science of skin rejuvenation, Newest from DermaFocus (known as the home of polynucleotides) is the latest product which offers both polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid (HA) in one injectable. Representing a significant advancement in non-surgical skin rejuvenation, this innovative approach is gaining recognition among both renowned individuals and patients seeking effective, non-invasive solutions for addressing skin changes associated with aging, dehydration, and environmental stressors. Derived from DNA molecules, polynucleotides are indispensable molecules in skincare, exerting profound effects on genetic makeup, cellular processes, repair mechanisms, and overall skin health. Hyaluronic acid is a molecule highly prised for its ability to bind and retain moisture and by combining both polynucleotides and HA in one product, Newest has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to support cellular regeneration, stimulate collagen synthesis, and increase the rapid reproduction of fibroblasts - cells integral to maintaining skin’s structural integrity. It rapidly and efficiently repairs radiation and radical damage whilst giving the skin additional hydration, resilience and a youthful appearance making them essential components of effective skincare regimens. Newest is ideal for the face, neck and decolletage area and is perfect for mature and dehydrated skin. The procedure is conducted following a comprehensive consultation to assess individual skin needs and for optimal results, treatment is needed every 14-21 days over 3-4 sessions. Administration is performed through a series of micro-injections. Once injected, the blend of polynucleotides and hyaluronic acid acts beneath the surface to accelerate natural repair processes, promote tissue regeneration, and restore lost volume. Patients frequently observe improvements in skin suppleness and radiance within a short period after the initial session. Noticeable and durable benefits commonly become apparent by six to nine weeks following the final session. Clinical studies involving 40 women assessed the benefits of this dual-ingredient therapy for rejuvenation of the mid-face region and after 6 weeks of three treatment sessions, patients noticed significant improvements in skin quality, elasticity and brightness as well as a significant reduction of wrinkles and skin roughness. Newest is specifically recommended for the prevention of ageing and the maintenance of youthful skin quality and is particularly suited to mature or dehydrated skin. It offers a sophisticated and comprehensive approach for patients seeking to revitalise and hydrate their skin without resorting to invasive procedures and its innovative formulation helps to remodel areas with a high fibrous content, such as acne scars, promoting smoother and more radiant skin texture.

S C U L P T R A by Galderma

YOUR HEALTH & BEAUTY

Sculptra is an injectable collagen stimulator developed by Galderma, a leading dermatology company specialising in advanced injectable aesthetics, skincare, and therapeutic dermatology products tailored to individual needs. Introduced twenty-five years ago, Sculptra became the first clinically validated regenerative biostimulator and has since been used in millions of treatments worldwide. Its versatility makes it highly regarded and it works by effectively lifting the skin and enhancing overall skin quality. Initially, Sculptra was approved in Europe for correcting minor facial deficits. It was subsequently authorised in the United States for managing facial lipoatrophy in HIV patients, where it helped to restore facial volume lost due to this condition by stimulating natural collagen production and improving firmness. This innovative solution from Galderma addresses a broad range of skin concerns, making it suitable for diverse needs. Everyone’s skin is unique and tells its own story. As we age, our bodies gradually lose collagen and elastin, resulting in facial

volume loss and sagging skin. After the age of 20, it is common to lose about 1% of collagen annually. Sculptra is notable as the first poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) injectable designed to target fine lines, wrinkles, sagging, and other visible signs of ageing caused by collagen depletion. Collagen, a fibrous protein, is crucial for maintaining the skin’s structure and shape and it plays a key role in defending against wrinkles and sagging. By the age of 40, many will have lost around 20% of their natural collagen. Sculptra works by encouraging the body to produce more collagen. Its poly-L-lactic acid formulation creates a supportive framework within the skin’s inner layers, promoting a more youthful appearance over time. Both internal and external factors contribute to changes in our skin throughout life. These include lifestyle choices such as smoking and prolonged sun exposure, as well as the natural decline of collagen and elastin, fat pad reduction, and changes in bone structure. Collagen and elastin are essential for maintaining youthful skin. Sculptra gradually restores the skin’s firmness, radiance, and volume in areas that have become loose or saggy due to ageing, lifestyle factors, or rapid weight loss. It is used to treat smile lines (nasolabial folds), laugh lines (marionette lines), and chin wrinkles by being injected into the deep layers of the skin, which stimulates new collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra is a regenerative injectable that offers multiple benefits. It stimulates natural collagen production, smooths wrinkles, improves skin tightness, and delivers a refreshed appearance with minimal downtime. Visible results typically begin to appear about one month after treatment and can last for up to two years. Clinical studies show that Sculptra boosts Type 1 collagen by 66.5% in patients after three months and after 25 months, 80% rated their results as good to excellent while 89% saw lasting improvements. Nine out of ten patients would recommend Sculptra two years post-treatment. Also known as the liquid face lift, Sculptra is one product with many possibilities.

THE STAFFORD

THE STAFFORD

Nestled in the heart of St James’s, The Stafford is a calming retreat in the centre of the capital. Offering 106 uniquely designed bedrooms and suites across the Main House, the all-suite Mews building, and the historic Carriage House, The Stafford blends classic charm with modern amenities. With an illustrious past since its establishment in 1912, the hotel has seen a great range of faces through its doors and has hosted wartime heroes to members of the Royal Family. The most highly decorated servicewoman of World War II, New Zealand born, French Resistance spy Nancy Wake was a longtime resident at the hotel, and would often be found perched at the American Bar sipping a refreshing gin & tonic. The Queen Mother would often visit for lunch, via underground tunnels that once connected the hotel to St James’s Palace, and the 400-year-old wine cellars served

the effect they may inadvertently have on sea-life while in the wild. Wind also plays a huge role in ocean surfing. No matter the wind here or hurricane offsite, the park is so protected that it doesn’t affect the quality of the waves so therefore the park acts as the perfect solution. Incredibly accessible, the park prides itself on getting anyone and everyone in the water - whatever your abilities or skillset. Opened in collaboration with Pharrell Williams, who is a Virginia Beach native, and sponsored by major surfing brands such as Rip Curl, the park hosts a range of programmes to encourage more disadvantaged children who may not be comfortable in the water to a whole host of adaptive events. The US Open Adaptive Surf Ski Team recently visited, and the park is proud to be ADA compliant. Open all year-round and with the ability to pick left or right side wave sides for wave direction and preference stand on the board, waves can get up to 6.5ft, and are powered by 46-module Wavegarden Cove - the world’s leading surf technology. The patented Wavegarden Cove® technology offers a revolutionary development never seen before: up to 1000 perfect waves/hour similar to those in the ocean. Furthermore, state of the art Flowstate AI technology cameras capture your ride - regardless of wave level. So whether you're catching your first wave or refining your technique, Flowstate’s on-device and in-venue cameras use AI to film, tag, and deliver your best moments instantly. From there, you can track progress with performance data, review with coaching insights, and share your clips with the world - all from one seamless platform. Even if you aren't into surfing, the park offers plenty to do and guests can purchase a beach access pass to enjoy exclusive access to the surf lagoon beach area. Here, guests can enjoy luxurious lounge seating - beachside - while enjoying seamless food and beverage service, all with unparalleled views of perfect waves rolling in. The area also offers a host of shops, restaurants and, very soon, there will even be surfer lodgings. Back on the water, spot dolphins, birds such as Blue Kingfishers, and sea turtles on a wildlife tour, there are numerous boat tours to take, and if you don't get lucky on the water you can also head to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center to spy a sea turtle instead. A haven for fantastic seafood, and most notably the Lynnhaven oysters, Virginia Beach's very own Pleasure House Oysters offers visitors boat tours around their oyster farm to learn about these fascinating creatures. From start to finish their oysters are cared for entirely by hand: hand selected, tumbled, graded, cleaned, counted and packaged. Captain Chris Ludford, owner of the farm, pays around a nickle per hatchling, which is around a fingernail big. That then grows to 3 inches in a year, before being ready to be sold to a restaurant. In the wild, it takes 3 years for the hatchling to make it to 3 inches, and out of 100 hatchlings, only 3 will make it to three inches as most will die having been eaten by crabs and snails. On the protected farm, the oysters are kept in bags to be raised and around 50 out of 100 will survive. The warm waters of the Lynnhaven River create the perfect environment for the oysters to grow. When the waters drop to 10 degrees, then the oysters begin to hibernate and stop growing. This is when they are then left Farmed shells are thinner and more brittle than in the wild as the oysters grow so much quicker. There's a great initiative going on in partnership with the restaurants served by the farm, as workers bring the shells back to the farm so they can be washed and recycled then placed by to rebuild the reef. The farm first began in 2010 and the tours started in 2012, taking guests on a behind-the-scenes journey through the various oyster farms along the river. With three tour choices, including an option to grab your waders and get into the river itself, see how they are harvested before enjoying a freshly shucked oyster for yourself! If you prefer to stay on land, then Virginia Beach still offers plenty to do. Outdoor haven, Owl Creek Landing, features the first spiral tower with the longest steel slide in America - The Whorl. As well as an expansive canopy walk, children's treehouse playground and a beautiful forest path. Here you can spot the many Great Egrets, Belted Kingfishers, and Northern Cardinal birds. The 38 acres of scenic forested land guarantees a breathtaking experience for visitors of all ages and abilities! The classic red-and-white structure, perched where the river meets the sea, offers a glimpse into the life of early lighthouse keepers and serves as a stunning backdrop for photos. The present lighthouse evolved into a warning light in 1951 after the harbour was abandoned and was decommissioned entirely in 2008. In recent times it has come to be associated visually with the Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada across the bay. The lighthouse is a symbol of the island’s enduring connection to the sea. MATTEO GABRIELLI

Black Truffle and Mortadella Ravioli with parmesan consommé By chef Matteo Gabrielli from Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan

EGG PASTA: 200g Panettone Flour | 100g Semolina | 30g Extra Virgin Olive Oil | 25g Water | 50g Egg Yolk | 50g Egg White

METHOD: Add all the ingredients into a stand mixer and knead until you obtain a smooth dough. Knead for 5 minutes to develop elasticity. Once ready, let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Roll the pasta to a thickness of 1mm and cut into 4cm squares. Assemble the ravioli, placing a generous amount of filling inside, making sure to seal the edges well to prevent leakage during cooking. Cook the ravioli in salted water, plate them in a soup bowl, and cover with a generous amount of chicken consommé. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan and/or fresh black truffle.

BLACK TRUFFLE & MORTADELLA FILLING: 250g Fresh Black Truffle | 250g Premium Mortadella 250g Cow’s Milk Ricotta

METHOD: Grate the black truffle coarsely. Separately, pass the mortadella (after removing the casing) through a meat grinder. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, adjusting salt and pepper if necessary.

CHICKEN CONSOMMÉ: 2kg Chicken Bones | 1kg Chicken Wings | 200g Onion 200g Carrots | 200g Celery | Whole Black Pepper 2 Bay Leaves | 300g Parmesan Rinds

METHOD: Roast the chicken bones in the oven until golden brown. Once roasted, place all the remaining ingredients in a large pot and cover with plenty of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer gently for 4 hours. Add the cleaned Parmesan rinds and continue to simmer for another hour to infuse the flavour. Once cooking is complete, strain through a fine cloth to remove impurities and obtain a clear broth.

CHAMPAGNE

A S PA R K L E O F L I G H T IN THE DARK 2025 marked a milestone year for the Champagne industry; not only did the region celebrate its 10th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage site, but an eighth grape variety was authorised in the Champagne region: Chardonnay Rose. Whilst identified as early as the 1900s, Chardonnay Rose was found only in a few scattered vines. Having been preserved by passionate winegrowers, it was officially recognised as a variety in France in 2018, and since July 31 2025, has been included in the specifications of the Champagne appellation as a main grape variety, as a natural mutation of Chardonnay Blanc. Chardonnay Rose illustrates Champagne’s unwavering ability to evolve responsibly in the face of climate challenges, and its commitment to genetic diversity, while preserving its traditions and rich heritage. In light of the addition of this new grape variety, the Champagne Bureau UK* shares insights into Champagne’s diversity in styles, and the many ways in which to enjoy it over the festive period and into the New Year.

Feeling festive: Whilst celebrated in many different ways, Christmas is a time undeniably rooted in tradition; whether that be large family gatherings, countryside walks, board game tournaments or simply a time to unwind as the year draws to a close. While 35% of Britons consider spending time with loved ones as their favourite part of the holiday, 9% view the food and drink as the best element of Christmas (YouGov), highlighting its importance during the festive period. When it comes to festive drinks, there is no better accompaniment than Champagne; while typically associated with special occasions and sharing moments amongst friends and family, it is also a perfect pairing throughout all courses of your meal, providing you know your styles!

YOUR PALATE Christmas pairing suggestion: Charcuterie and Cheese Board and a Blanc de Noirs The charcuterie board is a favoured dish during Christmas, whether it is brought out following a Christmas lunch or saved for the following days. A Blanc de Noirs Champagne is the ideal pairing for such an offering, with its rounder palate perfectly balancing the diverse flavours of thinly sliced prosciutto, salami and serrano ham; and cheese, in particular brie, cheddar with cranberries and Comté.

A toast to the New Year: An evening dedicated to celebration, a glass of Champagne is the ultimate way to ring in the new year. Its association with special moments shared between loved ones and friends make it the perfect drink for this occasion, and can be elevated even further by pairing it with party food: enjoyed throughout the night as opposed to just the countdown.

The ultimate romantic gesture: ‘I only drink Champagne on two occasions – when I am in love and when I am not’ are the famous words spoken by Coco Chanel. Champagne has long been associated with romance, making it the ideal drink for Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day pairing suggestion: Oysters and a Champagne Brut Nature The most romantic day of the year, it is only fitting that the food and drink enjoyed on Valentine’s Day are reflective of this. Renowned for its romantic symbolism, oysters are the ultimate romantic gesture, famous for their aphrodisiac properties and indulgent reputation. To elevate this dish, why not pair with a Champagne Brut Nature: also known as Zero Dosage Champagne, it is the driest style because it has no sugar added after the second fermentation. This style is known to be more crisp, linear and mineral, which will bring freshness and liveliness to the delicate texture of oysters, without overshadowing them.

New Years Eve pairing suggestion: Mediterranean mezze platter and a Vintage Rosé Champagne Whether playing host or guest this New Year’s Eve, a ‘bring-a-board’ spread is the ultimate party food option, catering to all tastes and preferences and saving the hassle of a formal dinner setting. Mediterranean, mezze-style food pairs exceptionally well with Rosé Champagne, which accentuates the tapestry of fresh flavours without overpowering them. Its complex notes of both acidity and red fruits make it one of the few wines versatile enough to handle the diversity that comes with mezze platters. The nuanced flavours from Mediterranean cuisine are able to shine when accompanied by a Rosé; from the saltiness of olives and savoury palette of dips such as hummus, to the delicately spiced roasted vegetables and cured meats such as prosciutto-style ham. And why not select a Vintage Rosé, made from grapes from one single, exceptional year, to further elevate your celebration this New Years Eve.

Stepping into the restaurant, guests are met with a fusion of tradition and innovation, a space where history and modern flair intertwine. The name “Wani Tzuki” draws inspiration from Japanese folklore, symbolising transformation and harmony. Tucked inside the House of Louie and complete with a frontrow chef ’s counter and contemporary Japanese minimalism, Wani Tzuki takes Japanese dining to a playful new level: think bluefin tuna sashimi, rock shrimp tempura, and lamb chops with spicy soy glaze. Exposed brick walls, reclaimed timber beams, and soft, ambient lighting evoke the charm of old London, while elegant Japanese calligraphy and origami installations add a touch of the East. The menu showcases a blend of classic Japanese dishes and inventive signature creations; all prepared with seasonal British ingredients. Sushi and sashimi are stars of the show, featuring responsibly sourced seafood that melts in the mouth. Highlights include the Dragon Roll with crispy soft-shell crab, avocado, and spicy mayo, as well as the delicate sea bass carpaccio topped with yuzu and microgreens. For those seeking heartier fare, the robata grill offers skewers of tender yakitori chicken and misoglazed black cod, cooked over traditional binchotan charcoal. For vegetarians, the miso aubergine and truffle edamame dumplings are crowd favourites. The cocktail list is equally impressive with Japanese-inspired concoctions like the Yuzu Martini and the Shiso Sour. With its blend of rich history, exquisite décor, and inventive menu, Wani Tzuki promises an unforgettable dining experience in the heart of Covent Garden.

HOLLAND & HOLLAND EDITION BY OVERFINCH A Modern Sporting Estate, Perfected

rangerover.com

YOUR DRIVE

Some collaborations feel engineered for headlines. Others feel inevitable. The partnership between Holland & Holland, London’s most storied gunmaker, and Overfinch, the definitive name in bespoke Range Rover design, falls squarely into the latter category. Their latest creation - the Holland & Holland Edition by Overfinch - is not merely a special vehicle, but a contemporary expression of British sporting culture, distilled into automotive form. Limited to just twenty-five examples worldwide, the edition is conceived for collectors who understand craftsmanship not as ornament, but as discipline. Drawing inspiration from Holland & Holland’s flagship Royal Side-by-Side shotgun, the vehicle reflects a shared reverence for heritage, proportion, and precision. The result is widely regarded as the most luxurious Range Rover ever created - and one that feels resolutely British in character. Finished in a deep, lustrous British Racing Green, the exterior strikes a balance between understatement and presence. It is a colour chosen not for spectacle, but for lineage - a shade that feels

at home outside a country estate as much as it does in the city. Holland & Holland’s insignia sits proudly within a dual-finish machined grille, flanked by bespoke louvres and Overfinch’s signature bonnet script. The profile is anchored by 23-inch forged alloy wheels, exclusive to the edition, each featuring a self-levelling centre cap engraved with the Holland & Holland hallmark. Solid aluminium side vents are detailed with hand-engraved Royal scrollwork, framing bespoke ingots bearing both marques’ emblems - a subtle nod to the traditions of British gunmaking and engraving. At the rear, an illuminated full-width light bar integrates Overfinch’s blade emblem, completing a design language that is confident without excess. Inside, the vehicle reveals its true ambition. This is not automotive luxury as spectacle, but as craft. Open-pore French walnut veneers dominate the cabin, their warmth echoing the figured walnut stocks of Holland & Holland’s firearms. Across high-touch stainless-steel surfaces, the Royal scroll unfolds with deliberate restraint, hand-finished rather than applied.

Both centre consoles are adorned with gold-inlaid Holland & Holland crests. At the front, a discreet plaque confirms the car’s rarity - One of Twenty-Five - while the rear houses a champagne cooler and flutes, signalling that this is a vehicle designed for both journey and arrival. The steering wheel is wrapped in walnut veneer, paired with a machined gear selector topped by a hand-finished wooden grip - details that feel tactile, intentional, and deeply personal. Perhaps most striking are the door casings: walnut inserts engraved with forend diamonds, directly referencing Holland & Holland shotgun stocks, sit alongside stainless steel plaques etched with further Royal scrollwork. Bridge of Weir leather, quilted and micro-piped, upholsters the seats, each embroidered with sporting scenes and finished with enamel Holland & Holland badging. Illuminated sills and fine metal detailing complete an atmosphere that is luxurious without ostentation. For clients seeking the ultimate expression of the edition, two bespoke Companion Chests may be commissioned. Positioned in the rear, their design mirrors the vehicle’s interior in both colour and material. The upper chest is devoted to hospitality: champagne storage, fine crystal flutes, silver bottle stoppers, staghorn corkscrew, bespoke crockery, monogrammed napkins, and cutlery - all appointed for gatherings of eight. Below, the second chest shifts focus to tradition: secure storage for two shotguns beneath a figured walnut panel, alongside whisky tumblers, decanters, and pewter hip flasks playfully styled as shotgun cartridges. It is indulgent, certainly - but also meticulously considered. Nothing here feels decorative without purpose. Based on the Range Rover SV, the Holland & Holland Edition can be specified as a complete vehicle or commissioned on a new Range Rover. Three interior colourways are offered, each harmonising London Tan and Harris Green in varying expressions - from bold contrast to understated refinement. Every example is hand-finished to order, with scope for personalisation limited only by the client’s imagination. What makes the Holland & Holland Edition by Overfinch compelling is not its exclusivity - though scarcity plays its role - but its coherence. Every decision feels anchored in heritage, every material selected with intent. This is not luxury layered on for effect, but a thoughtful translation of sporting tradition into modern form. It stands as a reminder that true luxury is not about abundance, but about judgement. And in that regard, this Range Rover may well set a new benchmark - not only for bespoke vehicles, but for what British craftsmanship can still achieve when it is given the time, respect, and restraint it deserves. rangerover.com

SAVILLS

THE ADVANTAGE OF BUYING & SELLING AT AUCTION

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW with Robin Howeson, Head of Auctions, Savills London

92

Savills Auctions London | 020 7824 9053 | auctions.savills.co.uk

YOUR LIVING

SELLING

The auction market has seen remarkable growth in recent years, with an ever-increasing number of lots going under the hammer. From military sea forts and water towers to hotels, commercial investments, land plots, and even more traditional flats and houses, auctions offer a dynamic and transparent way to buy or sell property. They create a level playing field where opportunity meets certainty. So, why choose auction? Robin Howeson, Head of Savills Auctions, shares why this method can be the smartest way to sell, and why savvy buyers are turning to auctions to secure their next investment.

Selling at auction Transparency for all parties: One of the key advantages of auction is the transparency it offers clients, regardless of what asset they are selling. Before the auction takes place, a reserve price will be set, ensuring the property will not sell for less than an agreed amount, and all terms and conditions are issued from the outset, reducing the risk of disputes or renegotiations. For some assets, such as charities, the auction sales process provides an indisputable record of the market value on the day, which helps trustees fulfil their duty to achieve the best price. This also mitigates any concerns around whether the property was sold fairly. Maximise value: Selling via auction can result in strong prices being achieved, and is a particularly effective route for unique or desirable properties in sought-after areas. If the property attracts strong interest, competitive bidding can drive the price above market expectations. This can be a powerful way to unlock the full financial potential of the asset, helping to maximise returns with minimal delay. Speed and certainty: Auctions offer a clear and fixed timeline to sellers. On the fall of the auctioneer’s gavel, a binding contract is created and the buyer is legally obliged to complete the sale. Completion usually takes place 20 working days after the date of exchange. For sellers who need a quick, guaranteed sale, perhaps due to relocation, financial planning, or probate, auctions provide an efficient route to dispose of assets. Frequency of auctions: Our move to online, live-streamed auctions during the pandemic has made auctions more accessible meaning we can now host auctions more frequently throughout the year. This not only gives sellers greater flexibility and faster routes to market, it also maintains momentum among buyers looking for their next purchase.

Savills Head Office London | 020 7499 8644 | savills.co.uk

BUYING

SAVILLS

Buying at auction Level playing field: All of Savills sales are held online via a live-streamed virtual auction room, offering buyers a level playing field when it comes to purchasing their next property. Held over one or two days, the auction process is transparent and appeals to those wanting to achieve a quick sale without the risk of counter offers, gazumping or long chains. Buyers know exactly where they stand, and the clear terms and conditions help avoid hidden surprises. Access to unique opportunities: Our auction catalogues features a wider variety of property types from development projects, flats and houses, shopping centres, private islands and even military forts. Under the roof of one catalogue, buyers can access a broad spectrum of asset types, making auction an attractive route for those looking to buy something special or out of the ordinary. These lots don’t always come up for sale via regular agency, so it’s always worth keeping an eye on the auction market. Unlock value: Auctions can present opportunities to buy below market value, especially for properties that need refurbishment or have development potential. For savvy buyers, this can mean strong returns on investment or the chance to create a dream home at a competitive price. With the right research and preparation, auctions can deliver exceptional value, whether you’re buying residential home or commercial asset. Some of the properties we sell come with no or very low reserve prices. If you get lucky on the day and face little competition you could find yourself walking away with a good deal. Savills final sale of the year is set to take place on 10th December. For more information on Savills Auctions, visit auctions.savills.co.uk

WINTER GREEN SPACES

MICRO-SANCTUARIES CREATING RESTORATIVE WINTER GREEN SPACES IN SMALL URBAN SETTINGS by Lucy Willcox from lucywillcoxgardendesign.com, garden design expert for the Homebuilding & Renovating Show

In the heart of the city, a garden - no matter how compact - can become a micro-sanctuary. A place to pause, breathe, and reconnect. And in winter, when nature winds down, our gardens can quietly rise into a new role: that of visual therapy, subtle movement, and structure. The colder months offer an opportunity to see differently - if we design with intent. Urban gardens are often highly visible, framed by windows, overlooked by neighbours, and woven into the daily rhythm of the home. That’s why planning for winter views is essential. We often find ourselves looking at our gardens more than being in them during winter, so how the space appears from indoors matters greatly. What you see when you draw the curtains or glance out with a morning coffee should feel layered and intentional, not empty or forgotten.

becomes your anchor. Evergreen shrubs such as pittosporum, sarcococca, or hebes provide visual weight and consistency. In pots, look for ferns, skimmia, heuchera or hellebores - plants that offer year-round beauty with minimal effort. Ornamental grasses are invaluable. Panicum, miscanthus, and hakonechloa sway even on still days, adding movement and sound. Their seed heads provide architectural detail and food for birds, while their straw-coloured forms catch and reflect light beautifully. Resist the temptation to over-tidy your garden in autumn. Many insects and pollinators rely on leaf litter, hollow stems and dense planting for shelter. A looser approach not only supports biodiversity - it adds texture and authenticity to your space. Leave the seed heads. Leave the leaves. A winter garden is allowed to rest - just like we are.”

Designing from the Inside Out

Winter Colour and Scent

In my work, I always design urban gardens compositionally from the internal views. The outdoor space should feel like a natural extension of the rooms it borders. A beautifully shaped evergreen seen through a kitchen window. The silhouette of ornamental grass catching the low winter sun. These moments become part of your interior landscape. Start by identifying key sightlines from within your home. Frame a focal point with potted topiary or create depth with a staggered planting arrangement. Think in terms of scenes, not just plants - as if curating a painting with structure, rhythm, and contrast. If you have limited space, use fewer, better things. Simplicity breeds clarity. Repetition of forms - three matching pots, repeated lighting, or a linear bench - can create harmony in a small courtyard or balcony. We often forget: a garden in winter is still performing. It simply speaks more softly.

Just because it's winter doesn’t mean your garden can’t bloom. Certain shrubs and perennials flower when you need them most, bringing colour, fragrance and life. Hellebores, viburnum bodnantense, hamamelis (witch hazel), and sarcococca are excellent choices for small spaces, offering soft scent and subtle charm in even the gloomiest weather. Plant these where they’ll be encountered regularly - along a path, near a window, or beside a doorway. Gardens should invite you out, even for a few quiet moments. For more inspiration, browse Crocus’s winter-flowering plants, where you’ll find varieties suited to containers, shady spots, and small beds. Scent is the secret weapon of the winter garden. It reaches you before the plant does.

Structure, Texture and Movement In winter, when soft perennials retreat and flowers fade, structure

Light, Layers and Mood As daylight shortens, lighting takes centre stage. A few warmwhite spike lights can draw the eye into the garden and reveal winter silhouettes. Battery or solar lanterns add a domestic touch

without needing mains connection. Downward illuminating up to the horizontal plane is one of the fast rules to create a wildlifecompliant scheme. Good garden lighting isn’t about brightness - it’s about atmosphere. It should feel like a whisper, not a spotlight. Need ideas? Visit some of the UK’s exceptional winter gardens for inspiration. RHS Wisley’s Winter Garden is a masterclass in colour, bark texture and evergreen structure. These visits help you understand how planting combinations mature and how mood is created through simplicity. Browse the RHS’s list of inspirational winter gardens to visit for a weekend escape - many are surprisingly local.

A Place to Pause Finally, consider how you will interact with the space. Even a single bench or bistro table can transform your relationship with your garden. Sit outside for five minutes on a crisp winter morning, cupping something warm, and notice the quiet rhythms - the flutter of birds, the rustle of dried grass, the fragrance of a sarcococca in bloom. A well-designed winter garden doesn’t shout - it soothes. It offers space, softness and serenity, just when we need it most. This season, don’t close the door on your garden. With thought, restraint, and a bit of winter wonder, your small space can become something deeply restorative - a sanctuary in miniature.
