C O O R OY C O M M U N I T Y CHRISTMAS MARKET CHRISTMAS in Cooroy will be bigger than ever this year with Cooroy Future Group hosting a community Christmas Market at Butter Factory Arts Centre (BFAC)! At 4pm on December 10 BFAC will transform into a Christmas wonderland, hosting 50 market stalls! There will be free, live music with two local bands; Soul Tree Union and Nizami, from 4 – 9pm. As a special act for the kids, we are featuring ‘Larrikin Puppets’ who will give a wildly funny free show at 5pm on the lawn out the front of the Butter Factory. Shop local and support our creative community by finding a unique, handmade gift for a loved one this Christmas. We will have food trucks plus a popup bar and the annual Australian Pottery Throwdown will also be on show at the Christmas Market, happening in the BFAC Pottery Studio, located to the left of the Butter Factory building. There will be eight experienced potters demonstrating wheel throwing and creating masterpieces in front of a live audience, starting at 5pm. Get your creative fill all before dusk when the annual Christmas tree lighting occurs at 7pm in the town centre thanks to the Cooroy Chamber of Commerce. T I M E FO R A S Q U E E Z E [SQUEEZE] is a catalyst for visual art educators, from a diversity of working environments, to share in the common aim of allocating time to maintain or refresh their art making. This collaborative exhibition and innovative opportunity provides valuable professional development and community engagement. [SQUEEZE] is held on a biennial basis and 2021 will be the ninth exhibition in the series. Exhibition dates are December 3 to January 16. It will present approx 40 diverse artworks from over 30 artist/educators, from close to 20 different public and private schools from the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions. ANOTHER Annual Christmas Card Charity Workshop is done and dusted. We are so grateful to our local cardmakers and paper crafters for their participation in our 5th annual event. Many thanks to Cooroy RSL for hosting our event raising funds for the ’Footprint Card Program’. Also to Live Life Pharmacy, Richies Bakery and Serene Thai for their donations. We welcomed Brisbane Stampin’ Up! demonstrators Liz Collett and Zena Kennedy on the day, along with Gaye Schrader, Barbara Boesten and Jill Potts.
