All-City Honors Ensembles Conductors Jaminda Blackmon has been teaching music for ten years. A graduate from Bridgewater State Collee, she is the general music teacher at Wexler Grant Community School where she also teaches choir and is the director of the school’s theatre program. When not teaching, she can be found singing soprano with the Heritage Chorale of New Haven, and with the Messiah Baptist Church’s Mass and MC-YA Choirs. Natalie Jimenez-Lara currently holds a M.S. in Music Education from the University of Bridgeport. She previously studied violin and voice at SCSU, earning her B.A. in Music with a concentration in world traditions, and is currently the instrumental music teacher at Ross Woodward Classical Studies Magnet School. She works closely with the Yale School of Music through the Music In Schools Initiative, as a conductor for the All City Honors String Ensembles and the Morse Summer Music Academy. Natalie served for several years consecutively as a teaching artist at Neighborhood Music School’s Summer Jazz Intensive and has taught music in the NHPS for over 12 years. Danielle Storey Carson is a native of Northford, CT. She received her B.M. Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. She also attended the University of Bridgeport where she received her Master’s Degree in Music Education K–12. Danielle has had the chance to travel all over the world and to sing with some of her idols like Kathleen Battle, Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, and LeCrecia Campbell, just to name a few. Mrs. Storey-Carson has been a teacher in New Haven for over fifteen years, twelve of which have been at Wilbur L. Cross High School. Stephanie Tubiolo is the Associate Director of Choral Activities at Princeton University, where she has led the Trego Singers and co-led the Chamber Choir since 2017. She spent the previous seven years in New Haven, CT, where she worked as a Teaching Artist with the Music in Schools Initiative and served as its first Postgraduate Fellow. Since 2015, she has developed and directed Morse Chorale, a performance-intensive choir for New Haven Public School students in grades 4–12. Most recently, Morse Chorale sang in concert with Tenebrae and performed as a featured ensemble at the Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Conference and the national Urban Music Leadership Conference. Stephanie earned her M.M. in Choral Conducting in 2016 from the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, where she studied with Marguerite Brooks, Jeffrey Douma, and David Hill. As a graduate student, her experience as a chorister and conductor was extensive; most notably, she performed, recorded, and toured in the Yale Schola Cantorum and co-directed the choir at the University Church in Yale. She earned her B.A. in Music from Yale College in 2014, where she served as Manager and Assistant Conductor of the Yale Glee Club and graduated with magna cum laude distinction.
