All-City Honors Ensembles Conductors Nick Drabik is the band director at Mauro Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School in New Haven, where he teaches 4th–8th grade band and strings. Mr. Drabik is enjoying his third year directing the All-City Honors Intermediate Band as well as directing bands at both Spring and Winter festivals. At the end of the day he loves to go home to his beautiful 10-month-old daughter, Olivia, as well as his wife, cat, and dog. Ashley Hale is the Morse Postgraduate Fellow for the Music in Schools Initiative at the Yale School of Music and was actively involved in the program since her first year at Yale. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music in Classical and Jazz ,and most recently graduated from the Yale School of Music with her Master’s degree. She has studied with some of the greats including Roy Poper, Allan Dean, Eddie Henderson, and Sean Jones. Hale has 8 years of teaching experience and is also on the faculty at the Neighborhood Music School where she teaches trumpet students from beginning to advanced players and looks forward to continuing her teaching career. Alexis C. Lamb is a composer, percussionist, and educator who is interested in fostering communities of positive and genuine music-making. Lamb is the Education and Publications Director for Arcomusical, a non-profit organization that advocates for the artistic advancement of the Afro-Brazilian berimbau and related musical bows. Lamb is currently earning a Master of Music degree in Composition at Yale. Her undergraduate degrees in both Music Education and Percussion Performance are from Northern Illinois University. She was the 6th–12th grade band director for Meridian CUSD 223 in Stillman Valley, Illinois. Her major teachers include Hannah Lash, Gregory Beyer, Ben Wahlund, Michael Mixtacki, Robert Chappell, David Maki, Brian Penkrot, and Lauren Ryals. Jose Lara holds an M.S. in Music Education from the University of Bridgeport and earned a B.A. in music with a concentration in World Traditions from Southern Connecticut State University. He has been a music educator and ensemble director for over 12 years in the NHPS, and is currently the instrumental music teacher for John S. Martinez Sea and Sky STEM Magnet School. Mr. Lara has worked closely with Morse Summer Music Academy, the All-City Honors Ensembles, and has been a guest artist and ensemble coach at the Neighborhood Music School Summer Jazz Intensive as well as an active instructor for the NMS Jazz department. A native of Colombia, Rubén Rodríguez studied music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon, Conservatoire National de Region de Paris, and the Yale School of Music. For more than 20 years he has been performing, teaching, coaching, conducting ensembles, and promoting music as a tool of social change in South America, Europe, and the US. He has created and coordinated several artistic projects in underprivileged communities bringing music into the lives of thousands of children. Currently, he is the Director of the Music in Schools Initiative of the Yale School of Music.

Myles Ross is the band and chorus director at Worthington Hooker School in New Haven. He teaches band, chorus, and general music for grades 5–8 as well as the jazz band and select choir at the school, and is the musical director for their annual school musical. Growing up, he participated in band from fourth grade through high school, and went on to study music education at Central Connecticut State University. As a classically trained pianist, he enjoys practicing the piano regularly, accompanying and directing his choirs, and learning new pieces. In his free time, he enjoys reading, learning new languages, singing with the Moniuszko Choir of Hartford, and practicing a wide variety of instruments.
