Sara Richer, MD, FACS, is an associate professor of surgery (otolaryngology) and cares for patients as part of the Head and Neck Cancers Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Fair eld, Stamford, and Trumbull. She earned her medical degree from Rush Medical College with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and completed her Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency at McGaw Medical Center Northwestern University. She then completed a fellowship in thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear In rmary/ Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Richer’s clinical interest is in parathyroid surgery and thyroid surgery, with particular expertise in optimizing the patient experience. Her special areas of interest include parathyroid surgery, head and neck masses, salivary gland disorders, thyroid cancer, and thyroid nodules. She has consistently been named a Connecticut Magazine Top Doctor, a New York Magazine Top Doctor, and has been recognized with Exceptional Women In Medicine awards.
