Nicole Casasanta, MD, is an instructor of medicine (medical oncology and hematology) and cares for patients with breast cancer as part of the Center for Breast Cancer at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center in New Haven and Trumbull. Dr. Casasanta earned her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. fellowship in medical oncology as part of the Yale Medical Oncology-Hematology Fellowship Program.
In 2025, Dr. Casasanta received the Gianni Bonadonna Breast Cancer Research Fellowship from ASCO Conquer Cancer for her project evaluating biomarkers for response to antibody drug conjugates in metastatic breast cancer. Her areas of clinical and research interest include biomarkers for therapy response, circulating tumor DNA, and HER2+ breast cancers.
