Dr. Alexander Jordan is an assistant professor of medicine (medical oncology and hematology) and cares for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies as part of the Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center in New Haven and North Haven. Dr. Jordan earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine and completed residency at New York University School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident and received the Resident Travel Award for Underrepresented Populations from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO. served as Chief Fellow, and was a postdoctoral researcher in the labs of Drs. Wolpin and Nowak and Dr. Van Allen. Dr. Jordan aims to improve current and future therapies for patients with gastrointestinal cancers and his research is currently focused on studying how the composition of the tumor microenvironment leads to therapeutic resistance in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) by diverse approaches including the computational analysis of digital spatial profiling data. His clinical practice is focused on the care of all gastrointestinal cancers, with a specific expertise in pancreatic cancer.
