Alain Mina, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine (medical oncology and hematology), and cares for patients as part of the Hematology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven. Dr. Mina received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He then completed residency at The University of Kansas Medical Center and fellowships in Hematology and Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (BMT-CT) at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University and Stanford University Medical Center, respectively.

Dr. Mina joins Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center from the National Cancer Institute where he was Head of the MDS and Myeloid Malignancies Unit. His research focuses on identifying signaling pathways that promote leukemogenesis in myeloid malignancies, particularly myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukemia as well as developing targeted therapies that could be brought forth into clinical trials. His clinical expertise centers on leukemia, with extensive experience in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.
