Middle School Weekly Newsletter 5/29/24 An Irish blessing as we head into summer…. May the road rise to meet you, May the wind always be at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your field, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Dear XMS Families, As we end the 23/24 school year, thank you for your unbounded support. We have witnessed much growth in your children! They have made strides academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We have seen multiple examples of students witnessing to their faith in Jesus. Some examples: A teacher needed to step out of the room with a student who was in distress. She asked the class to keep working as she helped him in the hallway. She heard voices in the classroom and leaned in to witness the whole group in prayer for their classmate. One Celebrate auction item is “Lunch on the Roof” where a student invites their lunch table to enjoy pizza on top of our building. As Mr. Linsmeier and Mrs. Meyer were getting the plates and pizza ready, they turned to see the table of students, on the roof, saying the meal prayer. Before a track meet some 7th grade students waited nervously for the event to begin. An 8th-grade track member gathered the team for a prayer of comfort and guidance. These are just three examples of the presence of prayer in our students’ daily lives. We often see admirable actions of compassion and empathy in our students as they travel this challenging middle school road. We thank our 8th graders for their leadership and wish them well as they travel to high school. We look forward to welcoming our 5th, 6th, and 7th graders back next year and in addition, our new 5th graders! We hope you all have a safe, joy-filled, and relaxing summer. Many Blessings!
