Dear Members, I hope that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Those Members who enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinner at the Club know that the staff did a wonderful job in preparing and serving the dinner. We are so grateful to have such wonderful staff both in the kitchen and the front of the house. Special thanks to Chef Neil, Samantha, Irena, Ramon and their amazing team. The season is off to a great start. Just to name a few events we have already had: Tabebuia Cup Sadie Hawkins Tournament Both golf tournaments were expertly run, well attended, and enjoyed by our members. In addition, we had a pickleball exhibition that attracted over 100 spectators. What a great success! As of this writing, I do not know the outcome of the voting on the proposed projects. No matter what the outcome, the Board is very pleased with the process. We believe that the Membership was provided with all of information on which to base their decision. The process was completely transparent, and the voting process was extended to allow for all Members to cast a ballot. We are, of course, also very pleased that our new CEO, Ron Parris is now here full time. I am sure that many of you have already met Ron or seen him at various events. If you have not met Ron, please take the time to introduce yourself when you see him around. He is making a very concerted effort to be visible and to meet with all of the Members. I want to thank all the Members who volunteer on committees for Wyndemere. These Members take time to assist the Board and management with the various tasks and issues that are important in the operation of the club. You can see a list of all Committees and their Members on our website under Governance. If you would like to get more involved in Club governance, please go to our website, under Governance and click on the link for “Wyndemere Leadership Profile”. This will give you the opportunity to share with the Leadership Committee your background, skills and how you like to get involved with Club governance. And, finally, as this will be my last Wyndemere Way article until after the new year, I want to wish everyone and their families a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.

Dear Members, I really appreciate the warm welcome you have shown me as your new CEO over these first 30 days. I have been so impressed with your support and enthusiasm for Wyndemere. I have also been impressed with the whole staff, who love what they do and whose focus is Membership satisfaction. With this being my first newsletter article, I thought I would reflect on some first-time highlights from the month of November:
My First Tabebuia Cup- Congratulations to Mr. D’Angelo and Mr. Herrick for a well-deserved victory. Thanks to the Golf and F&B Team for their hard work in making this event happen. My First Tennis & Pickleball Exhibition- Two spectacular evenings with well over 100 Members at each event. Congratulations to Jicham and the Team for hosting some fun exhibitions to kick off the Racquet Sports Season. Survived My First Girlfriends Event (Wine & Welcome)- Thanks to GF Presidents Mrs. Furbay and Ms. Grandjean for an enjoyable night and what looks to be a great calendar of events this season. My First Annual Meeting- Thanks to Mr. Lapidas and the Board for an informative presentation and welcome Mrs. Joliffe to the Board of Directors. Thanks to outgoing Board Member Mrs. Hawke for your service to Wyndemere. My First Welcome Back Luau Party- Thanks to everyone who attended this phenomenal event. Congratulations to our Events Director Samantha Oman for all the special touches and to the whole F&B Team for an outstanding job. I had numerous Members comment that this was the best Welcome Back Party ever which was nice to hear. My First Thanksgiving Dinner- Congratulations to Chef Neil, Irena, Samantha, Ramon, and the entire Team for a job well done. Our Culinary Staff prepared 62 turkeys and served close to 500 Members and guests. Thank you for allowing us to host your guests and extended family. Thank you for your support and for making me feel so welcome. I am looking forward to an outstanding season. It’s been great to see so many Members arrive from the North. Wyndemere is thriving, and we are so grateful that we didn’t have any eventful storms this summer, we all deserved the break. Since the beginning of FY2024 which began on 9/1, we have two homes that have sold and currently have three more pending. As we approach the selling season, which is typically January through April, we will see more inventory come online, resulting in additional sales as demand continues to rise. The Administration Office is a hub of activity this time of year, and many visitors will be arriving over the next several months. We would appreciate your assistance when registering houseguests, renters and immediate family transfers. It’s extremely helpful to submit your forms well in advance of their arrival. The best way to register your guests is to use the forms available on our website and Wyndemere app. If you have several guests, you can put them all on one form, which will save you time. Below are the links to register your guests on the Wyndemere website. When received, the administration staff will process your guest’s registration requests and issue guests cards in advance of your guests arrival and have them ready on the counter of the reception desk. November Highlights – Welcome Back Luau Party - We recently celebrated 45 years of Wyndemere with a vibrant Welcome Back Party, transforming our pool deck into a Polynesian paradise. A heartfelt Mahalo to everyone who attended! Would you believe that over 400 people fit on the pool deck? The photo gallery for this event should be available by mid December; the membership will receive a link where they can download and/or order photos directly from our talented photographer for the evening, Ashley Scott. Upcoming December Events – 12/3 Holiday Craft Sale – The talented beaders and crafters of Wyndemere will have items available for purchase from 4pm to 7pm at the Main Clubhouse Lobby. Stop by, shop, and pick up a few unique gifts and handcrafted items that are perfect for spreading holiday cheer! 12/9 Veteran’s Breakfast – Join us for a special morning of honoring our brave veterans, beginning at 8:30am. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends! I was fortunate to get to spend the week down on an Eastern Caribbean Cruise with my wife and three boys. Made some fun family memories and took advantage of some rest & relaxation! Winter Weather – How does it impact our Bermudagrass? As we transition into the slower growing months for our Bermudagrass, it's essential for all of us to contribute to the maintenance and enjoyment of our golf course. One significant aspect that directly impacts the health of our golf course is the proper use of golf carts. Our Bermudagrass takes center stage during these months, and we want to ensure it remains healthy and lush. Golf carts, while providing convenience, can also pose a threat if not driven responsibly. Excessive traffic, especially during slower growing periods, can lead to compaction and stress on the delicate Bermudagrass. The Importance of Adhering to Traffic Management Recommendations To maintain the integrity of our golf course and enhance the overall experience for everyone, we encourage all members to adhere to the following golf cart traffic management recommendations: 1. Stay on Designated Paths: Drive on the designated cart paths for as long as possible prior to entering the golf hole. Exit back to the path as soon as possible when approaching the greens. When parking, please keep all four tires on the path to help reduce wear along the edges. 2. Minimize Traffic on Greens and Tee Boxes: Keep carts at a safe distance from greens and tee boxes to prevent unnecessary stress on these critical areas. 3. Use Cart Signs as Guides: Pay attention to directional signs, stakes w/rope, and traffic stakes. They are there to guide you around areas that need recovery time following excessive traffic. GPS Notifications: Follow all notifications that popup on your GPS Screens in each golf cart that directly relate to cart traffic management. These popups are a great tool to reduce the number of stake/rope that are needed throughout the golf course. A Shared Responsibility While the Golf Course Maintenance teams does everything possible to provide a great golfing experience, preserving the beauty and playability of our golf course is a shared responsibility between staff and members. By following these simple recommendations, we contribute to a positive golfing experience for all Members and guests of Wyndemere. Beyond the Course Remember, our golf course is a reflection of our shared commitment to excellence. Respecting the rules and recommendations extends beyond the fairways—it's a testament to our dedication to maintaining the high standards we all cherish.

The time is approaching quickly to submit your 2024 Livingston Cup Tournament entry. All participants should be sure to determine that their guest’s handicap is a current, USGA-verifiable handicap as of December 1, 2023. We will begin accepting completed entries starting December 15th at 7:00 a.m. through December 22nd. Entries can be emailed or handed to the Professional Shop within that weeklong time frame. Any Member that submits an entry outside of the seven day window will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist. This sign-up procedure has been implemented by the club with the goal of accommodating more participants than we ever have while still providing an exceptional experience. Livingston Cup Flyer

Wyndemere wants all Members and their guests to experience and enjoy the culture of our Club. Our dress code is designed to be contemporary and reflect the active lifestyle of our Members. Our hope is for both the wearer and observer to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible while retaining the traditions that are consistent with the country club environment and our Wyndemere facilities. Members will be responsible for the conduct, attire and charges incurred by their guests. MEN: Shirts must be tucked in at all times while on the driving range and/or on the golf course. LADIES: Sleeveless tops must have a collar or high neck and shorts or skirts are to be no shorter than mid-thigh. Holiday Junior Clinics Available for all family-related juniors age 9-15 Dates: Dec 19th- Dec 21st & Dec 26th- Dec 28th Times: 9–15-year-old 11:30am -12:30pm- $30 per student 4-8 -year old 1:00pm - 2:00pm- $30 per student Lunch (optional) All Ages 12:30pm- $12++ Register for one day or every day. The Season is off to a great start! We had an exceptional turnout Opening Day to crown The Queen of the Green. Sharing the crown were Sue Weber and Carol Paulus with 15 putts each. Runners-up with 18 putts were Kate Deger, Martha Hartman and Yassi Zahedi. Thanks, gals.
Sadie Hawkins event: First Place team: Linda Neaves, Fran Ryan, Ginny Caponi and Ron Coleman with a net 28. Second: Gillian Campbell, Carol Paulus and Nancy Ratrie. Their secret weapon was Luke Gordon, but that meant playing with only 3 handicap points. So well done all!
Please sign up for the Holiday Charity Event on December 5. It’s played as all Par-3’s for 18 holes. Lots of fun in conjunction with the North Naples Fire Department Toy Drive.
Looking Ahead! Our Gala Member/Member event is on January 30, with a Cocktail party on January 29 open to all. Invite your partner for the Member/Guest Day on February 13. Separate bracket rewards those without guests. Remember Weekly Sign-up using the Events Calendar or contacting the Pro Shop by noon on Saturday. Pro Shop makes up the groups.

Wyndemere Women’s Golf Association 18-Holers
We are in “full swing”. It was a great opening day with a fantastic menu (accolades to the “foodie team” of Dee Pietsch and Sandy Madison). Next was a large field for the Sadie Hawkins day. What fun it was to see each tee box filled with one or two teams of three women and one man! Thank you to Bonnie Butera, Dee P., Sandy, and our outstanding pro shop and food staff for a perfect day. A special cheer goes out to all the golf course workers and Aaron for making our course tournament ready after a day of four plus inches of rain. Many area courses were not open for play that day! Lucky us! Now as the days grow shorter and the nights a bit cooler, it’s time to welcome our holiday season. The first event is our Holiday Golf fun par 3 game and luncheon (the 5th) that we do with the Nine Hole ladies. Our “Toy Box” is in the Ladies locker room ready to be filled with unmarked toys that are donated to local families. Each year we seem to get more generous, so let’s make this year phenomenal. The Nonny Frickle is December 12 and 14. Hopefully you have already signed up. Our January guest day is planned for the 25th. It is a great time to invite up to three guests and show off our beautiful club and courses. There is a casual luncheon, followed by a shotgun start, the day ending with cocktails, extensive hors d’oeuvres and prizes. Look for the sign up to begin December 26th. Please check the Wyndemere website for our complete golf schedule including a Scoreboard that names all our tournament and weekly winners. With another successful Thanksgiving celebration behind us, it’s time to prepare for the Christmas holiday season! The Pro Shop is stocked with a great variety of merchandise, so you don’t even have to leave Wyndemere to purchase your gifts for your loved ones– adult and children’s apparel, equipment, footwear, belts, golf bags, travel gear, handbags, accessories, etc. Although, if you need a different size or color, we can special order it for you, at no extra cost. We even have stocking stuffers such as: gloves, socks, ball markers, note cards, candles, and more. Returning this holiday season, free golf ball customization by Titleist. We also have a Special Holiday 2-Dozen Pack of Pro V1 and Pro V1X in the Pro Shop for $99.98, while supplies last.

Wyndemere’s Duplicate Bridge game is played on Monday’s in the Wyndemere Room of the main clubhouse. All Wyndemere Members are welcome. You must bring a partner, and the cost for the sanctioned game is $8.00. This year you are asked to be in your seat at 12:15pm so our director can determine which bridge movement is needed and the game can begin promptly at 12:30pm. Complimentary beverages, a veggie tray, and cookies will be available.

Fitness Updates: Closed-toe athletic shoes are required for all gym and class activity except for yoga, pilates & stretching which are performed in special gripper socks or bare feet. Cycling options include SPD clip. Please remember the three-minute class policy: class participants must check-in for class at least three minutes prior to the scheduled start time. This policy avoids delaying or disrupting the class and allows us to permit those waiting on standby to enter the class prior to start. Late arrivals will not be permitted and will be charged the class rate. Guests are welcome to attend classes on a space available basis. The 2023-2024 annual unlimited package is being offered at $1,000 ($200 less than last year) or pay $10 per class. A NEW Seasonal unlimited package will become available January 1st through April 30th for $500.

If you are bored and you do not have someone to play with, I invite you to please play against the wall --there you will get a great workout, you will be able to work on your consistency and as well you can work on your volleys and reflexes. Bocce: The Fall Bocce League is in full swing with over 150 members participating in nine matches every Tuesday afternoon. It has been well received by all. The buzz has been that this is the perfect way to socialize among members returning for the season, as well as the opportunity to prepare for the Winter Bocce League. The Winter League will begin the week of January 16. Currently, we have almost 300 members registered for the 12-week winter session. Registration closes December 31, 2023. We are offering two upcoming Bocce events that will include a complimentary Bocce Open House Holiday Event December 7 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. This festive social event will be made more fun as you wear your finest holiday sweater/attire! We will participate in informal bocce games, answer your bocce-related questions, enjoy lite bites, and provide beverage service. This will also give you the opportunity to join a team! The Welcome Back to Bocce Pre-season Dinner Party will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4:00pm - 7:30pm at the Activities Center. The Annual National Senior Masters tournament was held in West Palm Beach for singles play and doubles play. After a grueling five long days of continuous play, Wyndemere took home some big trophies! Ahoy! For more than 30 years, Members with a love of sailing gather Sunday afternoons at 3pm at the large pond across from the Clubhouse. Golfers will see us as they come down White 6. You maybe even wondered, what are they doing?
Our group is known as the Wyndemere Yacht and Chowder Society. We are a group of approximately 15 and we operate a class of radio-controlled sailboats known as Kyosho Fairwind. Our group includes current, former, and inexperienced sailors – everyone is welcome - and we are happy to help anyone who is new to sailing. Our boats are approximately 36” in length, with a mast height 48” (61.5” bottom of keel to tip of mast) and a sail area of 4.1 square feet. With handheld controls that independently operate the rudder and jib/mainsail, we race various courses that are determined by wind conditions of the day. In total, there are 5 marks on the pond and we usually set courses that round 3 or 4 of those marks. Like all sailing races, each race has a timed start and we try to complete four races every Sunday. Depending on the number of boats, races may be divided in two starts so that the rush to the starting line is a little more organized chaos! Each race is scored by finishing order and a weekly winner announced. We have a group of volunteers who manage/monitor the race starts and record the race results each week – very much appreciated as it is no small undertaking to track the boats at the tight start as well as the close finish. At the end of season, the best six (6) race day results for each sailor are tabulated and a season winner is determined. On the final race date of the season, we also run the Malloy Regatta – one race, all the fleet, around all marks. We cap the final race day off with a late afternoon gathering to announce the winners and celebrate with wine, beer and, of course, Wyndemere’s own Chef’s Clam Chowder. In the Clubhouse on the lower level, there is a plaque that lists the annual winners. In 2023, our Commodore was Lon Vining. We had 11 race days including the final day and the results for the season were as follows: 1st - Milt Haeger 2nd – Jack Baker 3rd – Don Viehmann The 2023 winner of the Malloy Regatta was Milt Haeger.
For the 2024 season, our Commodore is Lon Vining, with Jack Baker assisting through January. The sailing is always competitive, but among friends there is always a good time to be had. We have several used boats for sale, and we encourage spectators to try their skills with one of our boats. Newcomers, volunteers and spectators are always welcome - we’d love to have you join us. The purpose of The Girlfriends of Wyndemere is to build camaraderie as members socialize, find common areas of interest, discuss relevant topics and discover what Naples has to offer. The Girlfriends of Wyndemere is open to all the women of Wyndemere. There are no dues or obligations to attend meetings, other than to be a Girlfriend.
