SUMMER COURSES 2026

SUMMER COURSE PASCAL: THE STRUGGLE FOR SALVATION

MAY 4-8

“This course offers an overview of the theology and wider interests of Blaise Pascal (1623-1662), one of the most creative, unique, and brilliant Christian intellectuals and literary stylists of his era.

Come examine Pascal in the context of his cultural milieu, studying his theology, philosophy, and ecclesial/social setting. His Pensees will be a major focus, but you’ll also examine his writing on reason, grace, and his theology of Scripture.”

SUMMER COURSE

WOMENINTHENEWTESTAMENT

MAY4-8

“I’m Jamie Davies, and I am the Tutor of New Testament at Trinity College, Bristol (UK).

I'm excited to return to Wycliffe College this summer to teach a course on Women in the New Testament.

If you are interested in learning about how I believe women are presented by the New Testament as fully affirmed in their church leadership roles, and how we might read some of the more challenging texts that appear to contradict this vision, consider registering.”

SUMMER COURSE

RECOVERING THE CHURCH’S ROLE IN PASTORAL CARE

MAY 4-8 | MAY 13-15

“In today’s ministry context, pastoral care is often shaped more by psychology, and therapeutic techniques, than by the Church’s own biblical and theological heritage. My course invites students to rediscover the Church’s authentic pastoral identity.

In doing so, they will develop a more holistic approach to pastoral care that remains deeply rooted in the Church’s authentic role in the cure of souls. ”

SUMMER COURSE

THE PSALMS: PATHWAYS FOR SPIRITUAL FORMATION

MAY 19-22

“I’m excited to be teaching this course! We will study the Psalter as the Church’s treasured prayer book, attentive to the ways the psalms invite us to responsive spiritual listening and greater freedom in the Christian life!

Check out the course description and consider joining us.”

Lissa Wray Beal

SUMMER COURSE

THE LIFE AND THEOLOGY OF DIETRICH BONHOEFFER

MAY 25-29

“My name is Jon Coutts and I’m excited to teach this course.

This promises to be fascinating and fruitful, not only because Bonhoeffer lived and wrote in a time of crisis, but because he had an eye for the relevancy of the gospel in times much like our own.

When class begins, I will have just written a book on Bonhoeffer for T&T Clark, and I look forward to thinking together about the life and witness of the Church. ”

SUMMER COURSE

SPIRITUALITY, HEALTH, AND THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALING: A DECOLONIAL APPROACH

MAY 25-29

“I’m excited to be teaching this course as I anticipate how it will expand students’ understanding of health as relational, spiritual, and deeply connected to land, history, and community. We will examine Indigenous and African health frameworks, Abrahamic traditions, and public health models to explore how healing is shaped by cosmology, story, and power.

I encourage you to join us.”

SUMMER COURSE
