The yearning for the past has been palpable for years. Our lives are being increasingly determined by electronics. We’re able to do more and more, and we’re able to do it quicker. This is an era of limitless possibilities.

Alongside these rapid developments is also the need to focus on what’s behind us. There is a yearning for the past, when life was slower-paced and the term ‘multitasking’ did not exist.

This yearning for times gone by can be seen in fashion, in music, and in architecture. This is also the case at Welonda. Welonda had previously been inspired by one of its armchairs from the 1960s, and subsequently decided to redevelop it. The ‘Retro’ chair is experiencing a rebirth.

The success of the Retro chair brought with it the need for matching furniture. You can see the result of this in the catalogue. Warm wood combined with steel; rusty and soft upholstery colours, all brought together into a design that lives and breathes the era.

RETRO STYLE FREE

Retro Style Free is a styling unit, suitable for two cutting areas, which can be freely placed in the room. This detached unit can also be switched with other units so that there is a cutting island. The colours of the Retro Style can be freely selected from the Welonda Laminates.

Retro Style Free is flanked by the Retro chair with black base and ‘Vintage Smoke’ upholstery.

Retro Work is a trolley made of black steel, high gloss white wood and three synthetic trays. With Retro Work, you can carry out the retro style in your salon to the finest detail.

The Retro Meet connects with the Retro Style in terms of design, choice of material and colour and makes your retro-design complete. The Retro Meet is available in two different lengths, depending on the desired storage space. In addition, reception can be carried out with a payment unit that also offers space for storing a handbag. This combination has a warm look, with a nod to the Sixties.

RETRO STYLE WALL

Retro Style Wall is available as a single or semi-detached unit. The photo shows two single units. The Retro has a matching black frame and the warm blue ‘Petrol’ upholstery.

BACK TO THE SWINGING SIXTIES!

The Retro furniture is inspired by the 1960s. This was the era of Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and the emergence of new music. Music was the symbol of letting go of old customs and limitations. This symbolism was taken up by hippies in the mid-60s and was at its height in the Woodstock festival in 1969. But that wasn’t all. Fashion and styles were getting shorter and sharper on the one hand while longer and looser on the other. Architecture and design were becoming more businesslike while keeping an eye for chic details. The Swinging Sixties lived and breathed joie de vivre, blowing the dust from the Nifty Fifties. Everything could be new and different. It’s this that the Retro line wanted to capture. The Retro line has two different variations: one businesslike, with a combination of black steel and wood, the other soft and refined. Both have a nod to the special sensation of being back in the Swinging Sixties. Retro is modern nostalgia.

The Desk ‘65 creates a transparent, warm welcome. Desk ’65 has a metal frame available in the colours of matte anthracite and white. The colours of the wooden furniture can be freely selected from the Welonda Laminates. This shows the design in the ‘Ojow Birke’ wood type with drawer fronts in ‘Dunkelblau’, ‘Platingrau’ and ‘Premium Weiss’.

DESK ‘65

The Style ’65 builds on the transparency of Desk ’65.

De Style ’65 has an open box at the front that can be optionally fitted with a hinged top. The interior of the box features lovely colour tones. Style ’65 is available with a straight or oval mirror. The Style ’65 is available in matte anthracite and white. The styling unit box can be selected from the Welonda Laminates. The combination shown here includes a white base and the ‘Glamour Wood Light’ wooden tones for the conversion and ‘Congo’, ‘Premium Weiss’ and ‘Himmelblau’ for the drawer fronts. STYLE ‘65

The Style ’65 has been reduced to a basic shape that radiates warmth and nostalgia. The Style ‘65 is available with a hinged top which, when open, acts as a magazine holder or tablet support.

To help keep your Retro as-new for as long as possible, we advise using a protective case. Use in the event of staining to the protective case on the back of the chair.
