Through energy-efficient processes and technology, using minimal water, little to no heat, no smokestacks, and reusing the scrap, bringing flooring surfaces full circle when it comes to upcycling. All of this results in a cleaner, high-quality reclaimed rubber flooring surface that’s virtually free from off-gassing and odours.

Upcycling is the process of taking a material at the end of its life and converting it into something better instead of throwing it away. A tyre’s main functions are to support a vehicle’s weight, provide traction, and absorb shock. When we transform tyres into surfacing, we are able to harness those attributes and elevate them so that our surfaces provide MORE. More safety, more ergonomics, and more acoustics for the people interacting with our surfaces every day.

MANAGING IMPACT ENERGY REDUCES NOISE

A falling object, like a foot or weight, has energy. When the object hits the floor, that kinetic energy gets distributed to many places: back to the object (bounce), into the room (impact sound), to the room below (impact sound), to the floor (heat). Our surfaces are all about managing where that energy goes. As it relates to acoustics, our flooring helps manage the impact sound in the room where the object hits and in adjacent rooms, including the rooms below.

Specially engineered surfaces can significantly reduce noise caused by impacts—anything from children jumping on a floor above to a dropped dumbbell.

The range of products we supply provide solutions that significantly reduce transmitted impact noise while also providing the safety and ergonomic performance necessary for a wide range of uses.

itsTRU® Technology is the process of taking Vulcanised Composition Rubber (VCR) and fusion bonding it to a variety of other surface materials with heat and pressure. This process creates an NRG Factor, where the base layer or “muscle” works to absorb force while giving energy back to the body. itsTRU® Technology provides countless design aesthetics, with the performance and durability athletes need.

CREATING THE MUSCLE

Material is collected, sorted, and ground into pellets or small particles for uniformity, then screened to remove contaminants from commercial tyre rubber. It’s blended precisely with binders to surpass customer specifications. Finally, pressure is applied, creating our VCR “muscle”.

UTILISING ITSTRU® TECHNOLOGY

Utilising our patented itsTRU® Technology, our VCR “muscle” is then factory fusion bonded to another surface layer material by way of heat and pressure creating the ideal performance flooring solution.

Our Clip Top profiles have been designed for a simple installation between different flooring heights. With versatile height adjustment and pre-drilled bases, these durable Clip Top trims are quick and easy to install and can also be curved on-site to suit. AltroFix 19 Plus can be used on dry, dustfree subfloors such as sand/cement, flooring grade asphalt, granolite, plywood, chipboard, hardboard, metal and epoxy surfaces, dampproof membranes and power float concrete. It is important that the subfloor is as smooth as possible, any undulation may cause pockets of adhesive to form bubbles in the floor covering.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Flooring looks best when laid on a beautifully smooth subfloor, which is only achieved with the right preparation work. Our expert fitters follow a thorough approach with strict guidelines to ensure our customers’ every requirement is met.

1) SITE SURVEY

Our team of flooring experts will survey your site to determine the type of flooring best suited to your business and the activities taking place. Measurements will be taken, and the sub–floor will be checked.

5) LAYING A SUITABLE BASE

Screed applied or plywood fixed to the subfloor to create a base layer that’s primed for bonding. This ensures a dent, split or damage–free base that will maximise the life of the new floor

2) TECHNICAL DRAWINGS

Using state–of–the–art software we will translate your dream into precise measurements and material maps so that you can visualise your space. Precise drawings minimise waste and give our installation teams the fitting plans they need when on–site.

6) TRIMMING TO SIZE

The top layer is left in the room to acclimatise for 48 hours before cutting to allow for natural expansion or contraction.

3) UPLIFT EXISTING FLOOR

Stripping back the existing floor is necessary to reveal the original subfloor and allow for close inspection.

4) SUBFLOOR QUALITY CHECKS

Checking for damage and damp. Repairs carried out, damp–proof membrane applied where necessary and made even. Subfloor left free of dust, grease, wax, paint and any other dirt, stains or contaminants, ready for step 5.

7) BONDING TOP LAYER TO BASE LAYER

With the use of commercial gym–flooring adhesive, the top layer is bonded to the primed base layer. Special adhesive properties provide excellent strength and flex to ensure an enduring bond that won’t break or crack under the stresses of commercial gym environments. Excess adhesive is removed using appropriate cleaning materials.

FREE WEIGHT TILES INSTALLATION

PREPARATION

Subfloor Requirements

1) Hardness: No sand accumulation, loose dirt or cracking whilst prepping.

2) Flatness: Flatness should be measured with a 2-3 meter spirit level and a feeler gauge. It will be up to standard if the gap is below 2MM.

3) Cleanliness: Subfloor should be free of debris, paint and dust.

Note: Rough subfloors to be smoothed with self-levelling compound after they get cleaned up.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

1) Locate the centre of the room, and mark two perpendicular chalk lines through the centre point to the outer walls.

Tip: Adjust the centre point to balance the tiles side-to-side and not end up with small cuts of tile against the walls.

2) Anchor Row: Begin the installation from the centre of the room and work 2 rows of tiles along the chalk lines towards the walls. Remember to use all the fitting clips provided in every position. You will need 10 clips per 2 tiles.

METHOD 1: BRICK INSTALLATION (RECOMMENDED)

METHOD 2: CROSS SHAPED

Materials on-site

It is very important to allow the tiles to acclimatise for a minimum of 24 hours at room temperature (at least 16 degrees Celsius) after packaging is opened on site. The expansion and contraction of rubber can be considerable, so it is important that tiles are laid at a temperature that is as close to the final room temperature as possible. Inspect all materials for visual defects before beginning the installation.

METHOD 1: BRICK INSTALLATION (RECOMMENDED)

Tip: With a cross-shaped installation ensure the installation process pays close attention to marked lines. Small gaps at the centre of the area can become larger as additional tiles are laid around the room. Brick installation can help avoid gaps by pulling the tiles in closer together.

3) Compression Fit: Once you’ve ensured the 2 anchor rows are completely straight, measure the final perimeter tile gaps on either end and add 5mm to your cut line making the tile bigger than the gap. Locate the tile corners on the fitting clips and bend the outside edge of the tile into position against the wall, then using a mallet to compression fit the perimeter tile into place. The 5mm that was overcut on the perimeter tile will be absorbed by the tiles within the anchor rows and compress them into place.

Tip: Remember not to kneel or stand on the perimeter tile or the connecting tile when compression fitting as your body weight will stop the compression being taken by the tiles within the room.

4) Fill the room: Locate the centre point on the anchor rows and lay your first tile. From the centre point, lay additional tiles towards the walls leaving the perimeter tile free for cutting later. Always lay a full row (other than perimeter tile) before moving onto the next row, again fitting outwards from the centre.

Tip: When adding tiles to the row, position the new tile into place making sure the 2 outside corners which connect to the existing tile are located on the fitting clips first. Then use a mallet to lock the 2 outside corners in place, before hitting the inside fitting clips into place. This process holds the new tile in place and spreads the compression from the 2 anchor rows.

5) Perimeter Tiles: When fitting the final perimeter tiles against a wall, measure the gap to the wall and add 5mm. Cut the perimeter tile including the extra 5mm, locate the inside corners of the tile onto the fitting clips, bend the outside edge of the tile into position against the wall, then using a mallet to compression fit the perimeter tile into place. Repeat this process for all perimeter tiles.

Delivery is to the door. If you request that the delivery be made inside the premises, and the delivery person agrees, then it is at your own risk and claims for damages will not be entertained. If you specify a location where the delivery can be left unsigned for, this is done so at your own risk. Claims for loss or damages will not be entertained.

MISSING, DAMAGED AND INCORRECT GOODS

– On receipt of delivery, count the number of parcels and sign accordingly. If a parcel is damaged, it should be refused or signed for as DAMAGED. Claims will not be considered where the incorrect number of parcels is signed for, or damaged parcels are not itemised on the delivery docket. All orders will be sent with an itemised invoice / delivery note. Check the contents of your parcel against this.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

– We operate a returns policy for 14 days after the original delivery. We cannot accept any returned goods unless you have contacted our Customer Service team and obtained a mandatory Returns Form along with a Returns Number. Failure to include a completed Returns Form with returned goods may delay the process.

We will only issue refunds if the goods are in new & unused condition – with original labels and packaging intact. Returns made at the customer’s request will be at the expense of the customer and will be subject to a re–stocking fee of 10%.

Goods originally dispatched with ”free delivery” and then returned for refund will have the cost of the original dispatch deducted from any credit due to the customer.

Refunds cannot be issued against customised products, i.e. items printed with your logo.

Physical aims to process all refunds / credits within one week from receipt of an authorised return.

WARRANTY & LIABILITIES

– All materials are covered by the manufacturer’s specific warranty and these are valid against manufacturing defects only. Claims arising from wear and tear or misuse will not be entertained. Warranties will not apply to any materials which have been altered by customers or third parties. The start date of warranty will be the date of receipt of the original goods. The warranty start date is not extended by replacements issued.

Ecore warranties are on a pro-rated schedule from 100% in the first 5 years lowering to 20% in year 10 (for products with a 10 year warranty), and from 100% in year 1 lowering to 20% in year 5 (for products with a 5 year warranty).

Warranty covers product only and does not include shipping, installation or any other costs relating to loss of earnings etc.

If a product is deemed faulty, Physical will, where possible, repair or replace any item(s). Physical shall not be liable for any costs in excess of the original purchase price.
