Purchased by the Galloway family five years ago, this hidden gem is becoming a sought-after destination for weddings, retreats, and other exclusive events.

Guests often arrive by helicopter, taking in breathtaking 360-degree views of iconic landmarks such as Hamilton and Hayman Islands. Brooke Galloway, an interior designer, leads the family’s mission to share the beauty of the estate with the community, forming strong relationships with local vendors and clients. Recently, Parc Exclusif joined Tourism Whitsundays, signalling its readiness to welcome a wider audience.

Brooke and her partner, a skilled carpenter, have transformed Parc Exclusif into a perfect blend of elegance and nature. Their vision encompasses weddings, elopements, wellness retreats, and corporate escapes. Every detail of the property has been carefully curated to offer a memorable and immersive experience for all visitors.

Designed by renowned local architect Chris Beckingham, who also worked on the luxury

design. Rich Jarrah timber features throughout the home, lending warmth and sophistication. The mansion includes a chef’s kitchen, recently showcased in a stylised wedding shoot, highlighting its versatility for a range of events.

She collaborates with local artists, vendors, and charities, ensuring that events held at the estate showcase regional creativity. Plans are in motion to incorporate local artwork and photography into the property’s décor for sale, reinforcing the family’s commitment to the Whitsunday region.

Looking to the future, the family plans to introduce bespoke wedding packages, enhancing the estate’s reputation as a premier event venue. Whether hosting a three-night wedding stay or a corporate retreat, Parc Exclusif continues to evolve, setting a new standard for luxury and hospitality in the Whitsundays.

family holiday on Magnetic Island is a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and wildlife encounters that make it unforgettable. From cuddling koalas to exploring WWII forts, this North Queensland gem offers activities for every family member to enjoy.

Start your day with a ferry ride from Townsville, a quick 20-minute trip that offers stunning views of Cleveland Bay and sets the tone for the adventures ahead. Arriving at Nelly Bay, the island’s main harbour, you’re immediately struck by the island’s natural beauty—crystal-clear waters, towering boulders, and lush greenery welcome you.

For animal lovers, the Bungalow Bay Koala Village at Horseshoe Bay is a must-visit. This eco-friendly sanctuary provides an upclose encounter with Australia’s wildlife. Here, you can meet and even cuddle a koala—a thrilling experience, especially for kids. Friendly guides share insights about these adorable animals, discussing their habitats, diets, and unique behaviours. There are also other creatures to meet, including lizards, pythons, and cockatoos. Photographs of this unforgettable moment make perfect family keepsakes and let you take home a small piece of Australia’s unique fauna.

After a relaxing break and lunch at Horseshoe Bay, it’s time to head to the Forts Walk, one of the island’s most iconic trails. This 4km return hike is suitable for most ages and fitness levels, though it’s best tackled with comfortable shoes, sun protection, and plenty of water. Along the way, the track winds through scenic bushland filled with eucalypts and giant rock formations, offering views of the surrounding bays and ocean.

The trail is not just about beautiful vistas; it’s a historical journey as well. During World War II, Magnetic Island served as a critical defensive post. The forts, built in 1943, offer a fascinating glimpse into Australia’s military history, and as you reach the lookout points, you’ll find several well-preserved bunkers and gun emplacements. For parents, it’s a unique way to engage children with history, as you can talk about how these forts were used to defend against enemy ships. The panoramic views from the top are well worth the climb, with 360-degree views that stretch over the Coral Sea and surrounding islands.

Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled by the chance to spot wild koalas in the treetops along the Forts Walk. The island has one of the largest koala populations in Northern Queensland, and they’re often seen snoozing in the eucalyptus trees. Look closely along the trail, as spotting a koala in its natural habitat is a magical experience.

To wind down, head to Alma Bay or Picnic Bay for a swim in the calm, azure waters. The beaches on Magnetic Island are some of the best in Queensland, with golden sands and gentle waves perfect for family swimming. There are shaded areas to relax, making it an ideal spot to unwind before catching the ferry back to Townsville.

A family holiday on Magnetic Island is full of diverse experiences, from cuddling a koala to exploring historical forts and relaxing on scenic beaches. It’s a place where nature, history, and family fun come together, creating memories to cherish for a lifetime.

rystal clear waters, a pristine cove. Gentle waves lapping soft white sands. A border of smooth stone rocks, a verdant tropical rainforest laying gently behind.

This morning I woke up at dawn and could hear the children talking quietly through the papery walls of our tents. I stretched out the crinkles in my body, reached for a light jumper and nudged my husband.

“Come on!” I said, “Let’s take the kids to the beach!”

Unzipping the tent, my feet touched the soft sandy floor of our campsite, the children were already out of their tents, and we beckoned them forward, forming a procession of early morning bodies trailing down the soft sandy path and out onto the expanse of beach beyond.

It was just us. No-one else was here. It was completely silent, save the gentle call of some birds hiding in the rainforest behind. The beach was a delicate shade of dawn, not yet touched by sun, and its beauty caused us to stop and marvel.

Like naughty teenagers sneaking to a place we shouldn’t be, we ran across the empty beach with delight, paddling through the shallows, laughing and

skipping along.

“Shhh!” said my husband. “Look here! There’s a stingray!”

We gathered around and watched the stingray glide beside us for several minutes. At that moment, we felt free, at one with nature. There was no technology, no distraction, just us together as a family.

It was hard to believe that just yesterday our little family had been dropped off on this remote beach with an esky full of food, camping essentials and the excitement of an island camping adventure ahead. As the barge departed and we were left alone at the remote Chance Bay, we knew this would be an experience we would treasure forever.

Scamper, Whitsunday Islands Camping, had kindly equipped us with all the necessary items - from tents to sleeping bags, cooking utensils to storage boxes, snorkels and stinger suits. The Chance Bay campsite was located a short distance from the beach and offered sea views from its flat campgrounds. As soon as we’d set up camp, we set off along one of the national park trails, trekking through the lush rainforest before popping out on the other side of the

island, on the magnificent Whitehaven Beach.

Here we played in the shallows and joined the other visiting tourists admiring a passing sea turtle.

As we ventured back into the bush, we felt happy to be returning to our quiet little bay which we had all to ourselves. That afternoon we snorkelled across the coral reef, the children squealing with delight every time they saw a fish. We also had two kayaks, thanks to Salty Dog Sea Kayaks, and enjoyed paddling over the reef and exploring nearby bays.

That night we ate our BBQ dinner at sunset, played outside with some sparklers and glowsticks which entertained the children while we sat back and watched.

An experience with Scamper, Whitsunday Islands Camping is one that you will treasure forever. The company can drop you off at more than a dozen stunning island destinations, so you can take your pick, choose your own special location where memories are made and return plans are always on the horizon.
