Expected reimbursement for the month is $45,605.61 Two of our newest Head Start centers will apply for CACFP pending receipt of the Child Care License, DeAnda & Reynolds. CACFP Administrative Review Prep – was held to begin preparing for the Texas Department of Agriculture review. Ms. Tiamoiya Lee, Head Start & Early Head Start Director joined the children and staff for GCCSA’s December Story Time. She read to the boys, girls and staff “Little Red Sleigh” written by Erin Guendelsberger and illustrated by Elizaveta Tretyakova. Ms. Tia read the Christmas story "The Little Red Sleigh" to the children, explaining the book's structure and introducing the author and illustrator. She described Little Red Sleigh's journey to find Santa Claus, despite being told she was too small and slow, and how she ultimately helped children fly down a hill, realizing her dream of meeting Santa. The story concluded with Santa Claus inviting Little Red to visit the North Pole, rewarding her for spreading joy. ▪ In December, Head Start leadership and specialist participated in a team-building lunch generously donated by Lakeshore. This event, made possible with the support of Mr. Will, provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, recognize staff efforts, and promote a positive and supportive work environment. ▪ Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church partnered with the GCCSA Head Start & Early Head Start program to provide Christmas gifts for every enrolled child—as well as their siblings. GCCSA staff worked alongside the Wheeler Avenue team to bag and organize the children’s Christmas wishes, which were distributed throughout the week of December 15.
