Get to know the marketing team

We are delighted to introduce you to the vibrant and dedicated members of our marketing team, Karen Petersen, Lizelle Rietman and Jané Muller This talented group plays a vital role in ensuring that our vision reaches hearts far and wide

The amazing marketing team is led by Karen Petersen as Marketing & Funding Manager. She sees her work as her calling and passion She loves working at HAM, because she is making a difference in children’s lives and gives them a future. Lizelle Rietman believes being happy never goes out of style She thinks the best thing about working at HAM is knowing that she is making a difference in the lives of our special children. Jané Muller is new to the team and was appointed as marketer in June 2024 She is excited to work at HAM, because she believes a person must be the change he/she want to see.

Whether it is crafting messages, designing eye-catching visuals, or engaging with the community, our marketing team is committed to building sustainable relationships in the community Our focus is to create a better future for our 155 orphaned and vulnerable children at HAM.

Badisa turns 21

Ambassadors

Meet our extraordinary ambassadors, who once called HAM their home and continue to inspire us every day.

These remarkable former residents of HAM share their unique stories of resilience and growth with the world, embodying the spirit of hope and possibility that defines HAM. Stories like theirs continue to shine a light on the impact of our collective efforts in nurturing and supporting every child who walks through our doors.

This year Badisa celebrates 21 years of service Our staff celebrated this amazing milestone in their honour

Badisa was established in 2003, as a newly independent organisation that is committed to social development through 134 community-based programmes in the Western and parts of the Northern and Eastern Cape Huis Andrew Murray Child and Youth Care Centre, is proud to be one of the 134 programmes of BADISA Western Cape

Events

Rhodes Quality Half Marathon was hosted on 1 May 2024 Rhodes chose HAM to be their beneficiary for this year ' s event. A big thank you for choosing us to be part of this spectacular event.

HAM’s Youth Unite Sport Day was hosted on Saturday 1 June 2024 This was the first of its kind. Other Child and Youth Care Centres and schools from our community participated in the sport day. All participants enjoyed a fun day on the rugby and netball field

HAM’s White Christmas Shoe Box Project 2024 was once again a great success thanks to our dedicated community It provided a lot of joy and smiles to all the children who received their needed winter clothes

HAM's 6th Annual Black Tie Dinner and Auction was successfully hosted on Saturday 8 June 2024 at Franschhoek Cellar This annual fundraiser is to the benefit of our matriculants to further their tertiary studies after school. The guests enjoyed the Great Gatsby theme. It was a wonderful evening of great food, good music and stories of hope and success from students who have benefitted from this great initiative.

Ons was bevoorreg om twee finalejaar Arbeidsterapie-studente aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch te verwelkom. Inarie Crous en Marié van Wyk het ' n Gemeenskapsinteraksie Kliniese Blok voltooi by HAM Gedurende hierdie tyd het hulle twee projekte bestuur wat gefokus het op die ontwikkeling van jong kinders:

Die Leesprojek: Hulle doel was om die leesvoorbereidingsvaardighede van 0-9-jariges te verbeter, en hulle sodoende beter voor te berei vir akademiese uitdagings.

Die Sprokiesland Projek: Hulle doel was om kinders tussen 0-3 jaar te stimuleer om enige ontwikkelingsagterstande aan te spreek, sodat hulle hul ontwikkelingsmylpale kan bereik.

Hugenote Kollege se eerstejaar maatskaplike werk-studente het HAM besoek om meer te leer oor maatskaplike werk en hoe dit aansluit by HAM Kinder-en Jeugsorgsentrum.

Drs Bernard het nodige mediese produkte geskenk vir die winter. Ons kinders is lekker bederf met warm gebreide kombersies deur die dames van De Oude

Renbaan in die Paarl Laerskool Noord-Eind in die Paarl, het ons Share Your Kindness-projek ondersteun deur toiletware en kruideniersware in te samel. Mary Help of Christians School (Paarl) het vir ons klere en mayonnaise geskenk.

A very big thank you to Team FHBC & Masgcor (Masters), Jacobus Maree & Anton Bartman, who completed their second ABSA Cape Epic and finished 60th. They helped us to raise a massive R14 850.

A big thank you to Wellington Lions Club 410W & Wellington Bowls Club HAM was a beneficiary of a fundraiser that they hosted. We are grateful for their continued support.
