Karori’s Samuel Marsden Collegiate is proud to celebrate the achievements of Year 10 language Chinese student Telesia Tanoa’i. In May, Telesia was third place getter at the regional Chinese Bridge Speech Competition. Last weekend she was flown to Auckland for the national final and was named as a Chinese Youth Ambassador. Telesia says that learning Chinese has given her the chance to talk about the issues she cares about on a global platform and she encourages other Kiwi kids to give it a go. Continued on page 2.
