WRT assisted the town of Mill Valley to craft a “Complete Street” vision for Miller Avenue. A robust and engaging community process resulted in a plan that balances multi-modal access, improves ecological conditions for nearby streams, creates plazas and spaces for social activities, and reflects the unique character of this Marin County town. Community participation was fostered though online media such as a web page, email newsletters, and Facebook as well as traditional community meetings and focus group conversations. The plan provides schematic level design plans drawn in CAD to guide near term implementation. The expertise of WRT’s transportation consultants informed layouts with specific dimensional criteria to best proportion the various street functions. Regulation of parking in the retail main street and improving transit service were additional transportation points the plan addressed.
