STREET SEEN VOL 1

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT: FEATURING DUAL

On View: August 1st 2025- January 2026

Unveiling: August 1st 2025, 6-9PM

Foltz Fine Art is proud to present Street Seen, Vol. 1 — a new rotating window exhibition series spotlighting contemporary artists through installations visible from the street, day or night.

Street Seen is a rotating window installation series designed to activate the gallery’s street-facing windows, the series invites artists to reimagine public engagement with art by creating work that is visible 24/7, blurring the boundaries between exhibition and everyday city life. Whether bold, quiet, immersive, or abstract, these installations turn the sidewalk into a viewing space and the city into a living gallery.

Each volume features a new artist, offering a platform to experiment, reflect, or respond , using the window as both frame and stage.

Foltz Fine Art is thrilled to debut the series with “Hidden in Plain Sight”, a solo installation by Houston-based artist DUAL. Known for his bold use of color, crisp patterns, and urban iconography, DUAL reimagines hard-edge abstraction through a lens rooted in street culture and spatial play.

Artist Statement

This series explores the tension between visibility and survival in a world that feels increasingly unstable. Inspired by the original razzle dazzle camouflage, once used to distort and confuse rather than conceal. I’ve reimagined it as a tool for the human form in contemporary urban spaces. Through vibrant, hard-edge geometric patterns and layered botanicals, I merge bodies into city textures, asking what it means to blend in while still wanting to be seen. These works are not about erasure, but about resilience. The instinct to adapt, to find cover, to exist loudly even when circumstances suggest quiet.

The botanical elements act as symbols of persistence, threading through the rigid geometry like nature reclaiming concrete. Color, for me, is both a shield and a signal, a language of beauty and alarm that draws you in, even as it disorients. In a time when uncertainty hangs in the air like background noise, these pieces invite you to look closer. What appears abstract may, in truth, be someone right in front of you.
