When talking about environmental it is the way a company considers non-renewable resources, climate, and the move toward clean energy. (CFI, 2025)
Social refers to how the company manages relationships and this includes from the costumers to the community it’s from.
Lastly governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.(IMD, 2024)
There are agencies like MSCI ESG research and Morningstar that does this for you but the opinions vary between the different agencies so it is up to you
