NEW SIGNAL COMING TO DP Orange County has announced that work soon will begin to install a new traffic signal at South Apopka-Vineland Road and Wandering Way in the Dr. Phillips area. The much-needed traffic signal will provide a safety boost for nearby residents, pedestrians and drivers. District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson said construction and relocation of a water main at the intersection will result in lane closures and could cause delays for drivers. Pedestrians also will be detoured around the work area, and crews began working the night of Sept. 29. Additionally, jersey barriers will be installed on the outside northbound lane of ApopkaVineland Road to protect crews from vehicle traffic. The project should be completed with the traffic signal fully activated in February 2025.
