YOUR TOWN ROSEN JCC KICKS OFF HIGH HOLIDAYS The Rosen JCC will kick off its High Holidays celebrations this week. The organization’s Erev Rosh Hashanah event takes place Oct. 2 at the JCC, 11184 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando. The family-friendly celebration will include short service followed by a traditional Rosh Hashanah dinner. Then, the JCC will host its Yom Kippur service at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 12. It will be a short service followed by Yizkor. Services will be led by Rabbi Sanford Olshansky. The cost is $10 per person to attend Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services; free to attend Yom Kippur service only. For more information, email renatak@rosenjcc.org.

It’s October, and Hamlin is all set to welcome the fall season. The free Hamlin Pumpkin Patch will take root from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 in the Hamlin greenspace, 14111 Shoreside Way, Winter Garden. This event will feature pumpkins and honey for sale, live music with Rob Seay, face painting, a balloon artist, 3D photo booth, kiddie craft area, yard games, fall photo ops, and local vendors and food trucks. NEW SIGNAL COMING TO DP Orange County has announced that work soon will begin to install a new traffic signal at South Apopka-Vineland Road and Wandering Way in the Dr. Phillips area. District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson said construction and relocation of a water main at the intersection will result in lane closures and could cause delays for drivers.
