YOUR TOWN EXPLORE NATURE AT ONP FESTIVAL The Oakland Nature Preserve is hosting its third annual Nature Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the preserve, 747 Machete Trail, Oakland. Meet ONP’s animal ambassadors, learn the history of Lake Apopka and about the cleanup efforts being made, take a boat ride on the lake or a guided hike on the grounds, visit with the nature preserve’s community partners, and connect with nature. Vendors will include those related to nature and natureinspired art, as well as environmental organizations and food trucks.
NEHRLING TO HOST FALL PLANT SALE
Nehrling Gardens is holding its fall plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 21. A wide variety of native and tropical plants are available for fall gardens. All sales help fund the restoration and maintenance of the historic Nehrling Gardens, located at 2267 Hempel Ave., in Gotha.
