A $9,000 check was presented to the Horizon West American Legion Post 419 Tuesday, July 21, from proceeds collected at the Hamlin All-American Flag Parade. “This year’s kickoff event was proudly themed in celebration of America’s 250th, while supporting the veterans who have served our great nation,” said Austin Arthur, one of the event coordinators. These funds will support the post’s mission and the continuation of veteran assistance and resource navigation, scholarships, youth leadership programs, family support, veteranto-veteran mentorships, events and activities. “This is only the beginning,” Arthur said. “God bless our veterans and God bless America.”
