BLACKBERRY BLOSSOM FARM IS LOCATED IN SOUTHEAST MN, WHERE MY FAMILY AND I RAISE REGISTERED PYGORA GOATS AND FINE-FLEECED SHETLAND SHEEP. WE USE THESE LUXURY FIBERS TO CREATE HOMEGROWN AND HAND-PROCESSED FIBER PRODUCTS, SUCH AS HAND-DYED BATTS, DEHAIRED PYGORA CLOUD, SHETLAND WOOL ROVING, AND HANDSPUN YARN. I LOVE THE PROCESS OF CARING FOR THE ANIMALS I LOVE AND THEN GETTING TO USE THE COMMODITY THEY PROVIDE TO CREATE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!

Our small farm sits in the heart of Illinois in the small rural community of Clinton nestled within rolling hills. Our primary love and passion is our herd which helps to cultivate some of the richest soil in the Heartland. We value animal welfare, sustainability, and inclusivity.
The farm is home to forty some head of fiber sheep: Merino, Leicester Longwool and crosses of the two. There’s also three generations of Huacaya alpacas in the mix. Our herd is sheared annually and the fiber is processed locally. It then comes back to the farm for finishing touches before going out to our valued customers.

Aoire Maith (ear-eh mAA) translates to Good Shepherd in Irish. We at Aoire Maith Fibre Studios believe in the good men and women who spend their time and love shepherding their flocks. We believe it is important to support these good shepherds.

Book: The Sheeps Tale
Host: Kathy Sparks
Zoom Meeting
The Sheep’s Tale by John Lewis-Stempel is a beautifully written, gentle yet profound look at the world through the eyes of a sheep. Blending natural history, folklore, and lyrical storytelling, the book invites readers to slow down and experience the rhythm of the countryside, the bond between shepherd and flock, and the quiet wisdom of these often-overlooked animals. Both informative and heartwarming, it offers a fresh perspective on the lives of sheep and their deep connection to the land, making it a perfect read for anyone who loves animals, nature, or simply a well-told story.
