AIRLOCK allows for quick, easy, and durable connection between suction hose and various DEWALT tools and attachments.

The AIRLOCK connector connects directly to compatible DEWALT tools or by an AIRLOCK adaptor.

A universal system connecting tools to dust extractors, shrouds, and attachments to help minimise cleanup on the job site.

Dual filters are automatically cleaned every 30 seconds to minimise filter clogging and deliver constant and efficient air flow.

THE STATUTORY REQUIREMENT TO PROTECT YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEES

Anyone who works with hazardous dust must understand the health risks involved as dust-related diseases can cause permanent disability or even early death. How dangerous it is depends on the type of dust, the amount inhaled and the size of the dust particles inhaled.

Hazardous dust refers to the various types of dust commonly found on building and construction sites and can even occur simultaneously, including Silica Dust, Timber Dust, Asbestos Dust, and Lead Dust.

Under the HSWA and GRWM Regulations, persons conducting a business or undertaking must ensure that no person at the workplace is exposed to an airborne contaminant which exceeds the prescribed workplace exposure standards (PES).

DUST MANAGEMENT

IDENTIFY THE DUST HAZARD

Dust classes categorise dusts in terms of the size, consistency and hazard potential of their dust particles, which depends on the material being processed. These are classified as LIGHT, MEDIUM and HIGH hazard:

LIGHT HAZARD

LOW RISK LARGEST PARTICLES

Considered some of the least harmful and can be commonly found in the home, such as everyday house and soil dust. There is a smaller long-term risk in breathing this in however, you must still take precautions.

Examples of L Class dust materials:

• Lower-toxicity dusts such as gypsum in plasterboard

• Softwoods

MEDIUM HAZARD HIGH HAZARD

MEDIUM RISK SMALL PARTICLES

May not pose the same long-term health risks of class H but it is still highly recommended that you protect against it. Commonly found in most industrial workspaces.

Examples of M Class dust materials:

• Crystalline Silica Dust (Sand, Stone, Cement, Concrete)

• Board materials

• MDF

• Hardwoods

HIGH RISK MICROSCOPIC PARTICLES

Regarded as the most dangerous. This type of dust can travel the furthest into your lungs, and therefore may be considered carcinogenic, or at greatest risk of causing cell necrosis.

Examples of H Class dust materials:

• Carcinogenic or Pathogenic Particles (e.g. Mould Spores, Bitumen, Artificial and Mineral Fibers such as Glass Wool)

• Asbestos (should be additionally certified; not applicable for DWV905H)
