MEDICATION ON CAMP
If your child requires medication while on camp, you will need to complete our Camp Medication Form. This ensures we comply with medication protocols. More detail regarding medication for the Term 1 camps, including the Camp Medication Form, will be provided in the coming weeks.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND UNWELL STUDENTS ON CAMP
As of late 2025, COVID-19 and influenza in Australia are managed similarly to other common, serious respiratory infections, with a focus on protecting vulnerable individuals and reducing transmission in highrisk settings. Woodleigh manages these issues as part of normal health and safety planning, and camps can proceed with sensible precautions in place.
Before Camp – When to Keep Your Child at Home
Please do not send your child to camp if they:
• Have tested positive for COVID 19 or influenza and are unwell
• Have symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, fatigue, or headache
• Are feeling generally unwell and unable to fully participate in camp activities. Current health advice recommends that people with COVID 19 stay home for at least 5 days and until symptoms have improved. There is no requirement for a negative test or medical clearance before returning once well.
If Your Child Tests Positive Before Camp
If your child is diagnosed with COVID 19 before camp:
• They should not attend camp while unwell
• They may attend once they have recovered and feel well enough to participate
• Please notify the school as soon as possible
If a Student Becomes Unwell During Camp
If a student develops COVID 19 symptoms during camp:
• They will be supported and supervised by staff
• Parents/carers will be contacted
• Arrangements may be made for early collection if required These procedures form part of the school’s standard camp risk management planning.
Please Note:
If your child becomes unwell at the camp, the school may contact you to collect your child. As with any medical issue, it remains the parent’s responsibility to collect an unwell student and return home ASAP (at their own expense).
We expect that all students who attend the camp will take responsibility for these safety and hygiene measures and ensure that they are adhering to the protocols developed by the School.
