We Work Best When We Work Together One of the Chamber’s Core Values is “We build positive relationships” and that is best done through collaboration. Anytime the Chamber has a new initiative, we work to include members, volunteers, the Board, and other stakeholders who might be affected. This very important foundation building is crucial to any project that will be successful whether it is a new Chamber event, position on important legislation, or strategic planning.
With the Incorporation issue, the approach has been in stark contrast to the organizations mentioned. While there were many Township Board meetings held to present information and videos provided, those opportunities really did not provide the type of open question and discussion needed on such an impactful topic. Now we see a community divided over the very basic issue of how we govern ourselves. Wouldn’t it have been better to build consensus before putting it on the ballot?
We have seen this example through work done on a recent school bonds. Dr. Curtis Null, Superintendent of Conroe ISD, gathered 50 or so community leaders from across the area and each project was discussed over several meetings. Chamber C.A.R.E.S. Committee Participating in the Montgomery County Heart Walk
O
n November 6th the C.A.R.E.S. Committee is looking forward to participating in the 2021 Montgomery County Heart Walk. Funds raised help fund lifesaving science that saves lives affected by heart disease and stroke. This year’s Heart Walk will be honoring a beautiful two-year-old Rockstar named Ruby. She has faced many challenges, but she continues to shine. Her family is thankful that the hospital she was delivered at provided health screenings that found the problem with Ruby’s heart. Had she not had that screening, the family would have been released from the hospital not knowing what lied ahead for them.

I
n 2020, as COVID-19 spread to every corner of America and we saw it transform the fabric of our nation overnight, Wildcat felt the need to help. Fueled by the many stories of frontline healthcare workers bravely dealing with shortages of personal protective equipment, Wildcat shifted focus and built a team partnerships that allow us to supply TAA compliant dedicated to creating a domestic supply chain for gowns, masks and other healthcare products that our Made in America PPE. local healthcare systems depend on.
Wildcat leveraged its existing manufacturing and infrastructure expertise and compiled the best group of medical, compliance and safety experts around to answer the call for help from our nation’s healthcare professionals. The result was Wildcat PPE, a world-class manufacturing operation with an FDA registered facility building AAMI Level 1, 2 & 3 certified disposable isolation gowns. With over 120,000 square feet of manufacturing space, Wildcat PPE is one of the nation’s largest and most efficient producers of isolation gowns. Our manufacturing facility in The Woodlands is capable of producing approximately six million disposable isolation gowns every month. In addition, Wildcat has strategic
When our nation needed us, Wildcat stepped up. We created over 2,500 local manufacturing jobs making American-made PPE when our healthcare systems were being failed by foreign suppliers. As the pandemic begins to fade and life returns to some version of normal, we are still thriving and providing local jobs in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. However, we cannot do it alone. While we are grateful for the support and partnerships with systems like Memorial Hermann, Texas Children’s, Houston Methodist and others, we need our local healthcare systems to continue to support American-made products and the companies that helped them through major crisis and supply shortage.

Leadership Montgomery County Class of 2022 Kicks Off Year at Opening Retreat Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) Class of 2022 kicked off their year with their opening retreat on September 23 & 24. The Retreat was held at Camp Allen in Navasota and was sponsored by Entergy Texas, the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, Consolidated Communications and the Montgomery Area Chamber.
Class members arrived at Camp Allen on Thursday, September 23 to a day of teambuilding activities. LMC Board Chairman Brian Albert and Executive Director Sarah Rhea welcomed the class before they began their day with retreat facilitator Kent Hutchison. After lunch, the class got to know each other and bond over afternoon team-building activities at the Challenge Course.
On Friday, September 24, the class heard potential project presentations from three local nonprofit organizations. After small group and overall class discussion, the class selected to assist Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County with their project. The class retreat ended with an overview of the year and reflection. Leadership Montgomery County (LMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to developing and enhancing current and future leaders of Montgomery County. The mission of LMC is to prepare emerging and existing leaders to understand local issues, grow their leadership skills and connect with others to better serve Montgomery County. The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce, The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce, the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber, the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, and the Montgomery Area Chamber are all partner chambers in the LMC program.
