10th Annual Trivia Night Planned for August 18th
E
ducation for Tomorrow Alliance (EfTA) will host the Tenth Annual Trivia Night on Thursday, August 18th at Dosey Doe Big Barn. All are invited to an evening of brain-busting fun where guests will be challenged with trivia ranging from botany to pop culture in pursuit of the Smarties Cup. Each team will demonstrate their mastery of trivial knowledge with a little friendly competition, so come show what you know! All proceeds support local students through EfTA's career, leadership, and STEM programs. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Individual tickets are $100 per person in advance. Ages 21+. Congratulations, Ashley! UPDATES: Water Education Series: We will be having water campaign PSAs for four weeks starting in June. The campaign will take place on all Chamber Platforms and in our weekly Member Memo. As one of our Legislative Priorities, water is such a complex discussion. This is an opportunity to educate our general membership and community on the issue. The education series will lead into a virtual Water Forum. State of Water Forum (Virtual) Water forum is July 20th from 10AM – 11AM. The event will be a “LIVE” broadcast on all social media channels. Potential panelists include: • Quadvest • San Jacinto River Authority • Lone Star Ground Water • The Woodlands Water • HARC • Harris-Galveston Subsidence District.

he Mutts were recognized once again as our May Diplomat Team of the Month. C.A.R.E.S. Committee Hosts Birthday Bash for Yes to Youth Kids
T
o kick off the summer, the C.A.R.E.S. Committee traveled to the Yes to Youth Bridgeway Shelter to lift the spirits of the kids that are currently living there. It was a day to forget about all the worries of the world, and just spend time celebrating each one of them for an annual Birthday Bash. The Committee brought in boxed lunches, and set-up various games around the grounds such as cornhole, mummy wrap, cup stacking, a life-size Operations Game and ended with a water balloon toss which eventually turned into a water balloon fight. Everyone was treated to snow cones, cupcakes and ice cream cups. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the kids made it something that warmed the hearts of our committee. The committee also donated various board games to the shelter for the kids to enjoy. If you are looking for ways to give back to the community and want to connect with our nonprofit charity organizations, we invite you to join us for our next C.A.R.E.S. Committee Meeting the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at The Chamber offices. Nonprofit Charity members are encouraged to apply to be one of our 2022-2023 community service projects by completing an online application on our website and uploading a video submission on why we should select your project. Requirements are that your 501(c)3 organization must be a Chamber member and the committee did not serve you in the last two years. The application deadline is Friday, July 22nd.
