The Woodlands Area Business Summit Rocks Its Third Year The 3rd annual Woodlands Area Business Summit was a roaring success!
T
his year’s summit featured Keynote Speaker Rich Redmond, who has been the touring and recording drummer for multiplatinum country rocker Jason Aldean for nearly two decades.
He is also an educator, speaker, author, and actor. Redmond shared his “CRASH Concept For Success”, energizing the crowd with his message and his music. Redmond’s unique presentation mixed music, drumming, educational takeaways, crowd interaction, comedy, and storytelling. The summit kicked off with a panel discussion on Artificial Intelligence, followed by three breakout sessions featuring five topics for attendees to choose from. Topics included crisis management, employment law, marketing, and strategies for growing a business. As the only homegrown business summit in The Woodlands, The Woodlands Area Business Summit draws on the wealth of talent that exists in The Woodlands business community. Breakout room speakers and panel participants are all members of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, chosen through a careful application process to ensure that attendees have access to topics that are diverse, relevant, and innovative. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center Hosts | Meet the New Members
M
emorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center has been providing family and patient-centered care to Montgomery County for nearly 40 years. The medical center is a Level II trauma center with 457 beds in the main hospital with three patient bed towers and four professional buildings. Their team has nearly 1200 affiliated physicians representing 90 medical specialties. Some notable centers within Memorial Hermann include, Breast Care Cancer Center, Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center, Rockets Sports Medicine Institute, TIRR Memorial Hermann Inpatient Rehabilitation and TIRR Memorial Hermann Outpatient Rehabilitation. Breakfast Connections | How will you scare your competition this year?
T
he Chamber’s October Breakfast incorporated a Halloween theme for the event asking members How they would scare their competition this year.
Spinal Care Chiropractic Center celebrated October as National Chiropractic Health Month by participating as the spotlight table for the Chamber’s Breakfast Connections. Spinal Care and its partner organization Pilates on Pinecroft will honor World Spine Day’s theme of “Move Your Spine” by donating 10% of all group class proceeds during the month of October to the Helping Hands Campaign which provides much needed spinal care to children around the world. Their practice at Spinal Care Chiropractic Center and Pilates on Pinecroft is patient-centered, focusing on individualized treatment plans using chiropractic care, acupuncture, functional nutrition, and Pilates-based rehab to help reduce pain and discomfort, as well as improve function and movement. No two patients are the same, and although their treatments for patients may be similar, their reasons for doing them are based on an individual’s needs. They work hard every day to change the lives of everyone they touch, even if they never provide them with treatment. Sometimes it’s knowing when to connect people to other providers to help them along their healthcare journey. Spinal Care Chiropractic Center has been practicing in The Woodlands since January 2000, and they feel blessed to have built their practice in this community. The needs of their patients and helping people is what drives them daily, and they look forward to continuing to provide integrative healthcare for many years to come.

STEM: Expanding the Possible Save the date! Education for Tomorrow Alliance’s, Conroe ISD, and area private schools will be kicking off the 34th Annual SCI://TECH Exposition, themed STEM: Expanding the Possible, in January 2024. SCI://TECH offers 13 STEM events over several weekends to encourage scientific exploration by thousands of K-12 students. Members of the business community play a key role in supporting SCI:// TECH students. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to serve as science fair judge for the Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. Senior High and Entergy Junior High Science Fairs. On Thursday, January 25, more than 1,000 students will present projects during three time slots, including 7:45 am, 9:30 am, and 2:00 pm, at the Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe. Judges review and rank student projects. No experience is needed, and training will be provided on site. To learn more or to register as a volunteer, visit efta-us. org/scitech. SCI://TECH offers the opportunity to interact with and show support for students while helping to cultivate a prepared future workforce.
