A MESSAGE FROM J.J. HOLLIE We have come to the end of another fiscal year, and it has been nothing short of amazing. I would like to say THANK YOU to our members, volunteers and board of directors who helped make our 2020 – 2021 year a success. Making connections throughout the pandemic was certainly not easy, however our team and members persevered, restructured the way we connected by using virtual methods and eventually we were able to see the silver lining and returned to in-person events in October of 2020. In September 2020, the Chamber hosted a successful Virtual Annual Meeting & Awards Program with the help of Silver Rock Productions. I am thrilled to say we will be returning in-person for our award luncheon on September 17th. This past October, we hosted our first major in-person signature event since the outbreak, which was the Annual Putt, Pass and Chip Golf Championship and The Chamber returned to in-person business connection events in October 2020 with Business After Hours, Networking Breakfast and Meet The New Members. In our 2019-2020 fiscal year we were forced to postpone our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon due to the COVID lockdowns. However, in fall of 2020 the team was thrilled to finally celebrate the impact and accomplishments of our nonprofit members and health care workers with a drive-up Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. 2020 was also a major election year. Our Business Advocacy Council team hosted several successful Election Education Campaigns with forums hosted live on Facebook, as well as a “Party at the Polls”. November led us into another successful virtual event, this was our Employment Law Update. As we entered into 2021, The Chamber kicked off our annual Taste of the Town in a new format. This event transformed from a one-night event 2
to a month-long celebration of restaurants in The Woodlands Area. The Annual Economic Outlook Conference was pushed to April 2021 instead of February. For the first time this was hosted as a hybrid event with approximately 400 in-person and 250 virtual attendees. During EOC, Congressman Kevin Brady, former President of the Chamber, announced his upcoming retirement. Our 2021 Health, Wellness, and Fitness Expo was also held in person during the month of April. Advocacy remains an important focus, we presented a resolution to the Woodlands Township Board to postpone a vote on Incorporation in an effort to educate our members and the community further on the topic. We will be hosting forums as well as creating graphics with key educational points. We hosted our Annual Leadership Retreat at Margaritaville Lake Conroe, although circumstances forced us to end this event early, we were able to hear from amazing guest speakers on topics of innovation and leadership. Finally, to top off this great year we will be ending with our 43rd Annual Chairman’s Ball on August 21st. This event will honor the accomplishments of Board Chairman Linda Nelson of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and Past Chairman Jeff Garrett of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. The Chamber continues to find new ways to grow connections and be a resource for its members. In November 2021, we will host our very first Business Summit focused on driving success of all member businesses. We will offer a day of educational materials focusing on key areas that affect businesses from marketing, technology and innovation, human resources, financials, employment and business law. To conclude, we once again thank all of you for making this year an unquestionably amazing one.

Students Make Connections through Virtual Student Internship Program
E
ach summer, Education for Tomorrow Alliance partners with businesses throughout Montgomery County and beyond to provide career insights to high school students through the Student Internship Program (SIP). Even though SIP programming was offered online this summer, students still had the chance to connect with professionals to gain insights on a wide range of careers. EfTA matched 135 rising seniors with professionals for small group career mentoring, in addition to offering 38 career panels and skill building sessions ranging from interviewing skills to peer mediation. Thank you to the volunteers representing the following organizations that graciously mentored small groups of interns and made the 2021 Student Internship Program possible. “I feel better prepared and less stressed because I know there are so many options available within a specific industry. This event will support teens in Montgomery heading back to school. We will be collecting full-size bottles of Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash/Soap and Deodorant for both boys and girls.
