a night at the 40th Annual

Taste of the Town!

More than 2,000 showed up as The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center was transformed into a lively showcase of local flavor, bringing together restaurants, beverage vendors and food lovers.

From the first bite to the final number from Two Tones Dueling Piano Bar - The Woodlands, TOTT 2026 delivered amazing food, great sips and the kind of community energy that reminds us why this event has been a favorite for four decades.

Guests made their way from table to table sampling everything from crave-worthy starters to showstopping desserts, stopping to trade recommendations, compare favorites and discover new go-to spots along the way.

Taste of the Town takes an incredible amount of behind-the-scenes coordination and we extend our sincere appreciation to the sponsors, restaurants, vendors and volunteers who helped make Taste of the Town possible. Special recognition goes to the TOTT leadership team whose steady leadership, endless energy and pure determination helped carry this 40th anniversary celebration from vision to reality:

PROFILE OF SUCCESS

The Evolution of Modern Leadership: Beyond Performance, Driven by Clarity

the firm reflects a belief that leadership is legacy work: what we build in people and culture lasts far beyond a single moment of success.

Every organization reaches defining moments, seasons when capable teams are ready to elevate and strong performance has the potential to become extraordinary.

For more than two decades, Dr. Shani Nicole Robinson has sat at tables where defining moments took shape — in executive strategy sessions, civic initiatives, and boardrooms across the region. In those rooms, one insight became clear: sustainable success accelerates when talent and alignment intersect.

She observed that expertise drives results, but clarity sustains them. When purpose, people, and performance are intentionally aligned, momentum strengthens — and growth endures.

Geneva Nicole Strategies, LLC was established to help organizations lead with that alignment — consistently and strategically. Named in honor of her grandmother, Geneva,

What began as leadership advising, mentoring, and strategic development evolved into a consulting firm focused on expanding leadership capacity more broadly. Today, GNS partners with corporations, highereducation institutions, nonprofits, and public-sector agencies to strengthen clarity, engagement, and organizational resilience.

In a business climate shaped by rapid AI advancement, generational workforce shifts, and rising expectations for transparency and trust, leadership has become a competitive advantage. Gallup research shows that highly engaged teams outperform peers in profitability, productivity, and retention. Engagement is not accidental — it is the outcome of intentional leadership.

What distinguishes GNS is not simply expertise in leadership theory, but leadership practiced in real time.

Dr. Robinson is a CPA and former PwC professional who under-stands financial performance and strategic execution. She is also a certified emotional intelligence practitioner who understands human behavior, influence, and trust-building. As a Senior Associate Dean and professor, she leads within a complex institution and throughout the community while teaching the very principles she delivers to clients. Her guidance is applied daily where accountability, culture, and results intersect.

Her book, When Reliability Becomes a Liability: How Emotionally Intelligent Leaders Align Purpose, People, and Performance, extends this philosophy by helping high-performing leaders expand their influence with clarity and sustainability.

Through Geneva Nicole Strategies, organizations engage Dr. Robinson for executive coaching, leadership team development, and emotional intelligence workshops that strengthen communication and decisionmaking. Whether guiding a leadership retreat or coaching emerging leaders, the focus remains the same: practical tools that translate insight into measurable impact.

Deeply engaged throughout The Woodlands and neighboring communities, Dr. Robinson believes leadership begins locally. Strong organizations create opportunity. Opportunity strengthens families. Thriving families build resilient communities.

Building Opportunities | C.A.R.E.S. Supports Project Beacon Texas

This January, the C.A.R.E.S. Committee kicked off the year with a mission of play and purpose, hosting a Leisure Quest Supplies Drive to benefit Project Beacon Texas.

The drive was designed to support the Beacon Access Center, a hub where adults with autism and other neurodiversities engage in age-appropriate leisure activities. By providing supplies for novel recreational pursuits, the C.A.R.E.S. initiative helped Project Beacon clients foster independence, sharpen social connection skills, and enjoy more meaningful interactions with their friends and families.

Project Beacon Texas is dedicated to building a “community of belonging”

where neurodiverse adults can play, learn, work, and live. You can explore their inspiring programs and vision directly on the Project Beacon website projectbeacontx.org.

Are you looking for a tangible way to give back to our community? The C.A.R.E.S. Committee invites you to join our monthly efforts. We partner with a different local nonprofit every month to complete a dedicated service project.

Beyond the hands-on work, our meetings feature a Nonprofit Roundtable, providing a platform for any organizations in attendance to share their latest updates and needs with the group.

C.A.R.E.S. meets the first Wednesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. at The Chamber offices. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make a lasting impact.

Recognizing Excellence | Manhattan Team Named January Diplomat Team of the Month

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize the Manhattan Team as the Diplomat Team of the Month for January 2026. This dedicated group of volunteers has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Chamber’s mission, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the local business community through proactive outreach and consistent engagement.

Throughout January, the Manhattan Team went above and beyond to ensure both new and existing members felt the full value of their Chamber

investment. Their efforts were concentrated in three vital areas:

• Member Integration: The team worked closely with new members, connecting them to essential resources and navigating them through their member benefits.

• Outreach & Renewals: In collaboration with the Chamber’s membership department, they spearheaded outreach efforts to support membership renewals, reinforcing the Chamber’s 1,300+ member strong network.

• Community Presence: Demonstrating the true spirit of a Diplomat, team members volunteered their time to attend numerous ribbon cuttings and staffed shifts for the monthly Business Connection events, fostering a welcoming environment for all attendees.

The Manhattan Team’s success is a testament to the leadership and collaborative spirit of its members: Amber Sickafoose (Team Lead): Representing The Woodlands Country Club, David Dewhurst from Prosperity Living, and Kathleen Buckland representing The Woodlands Kiwanis Club.

The time and energy invested by the Manhattan Team significantly expanded the Chamber’s influence and created new opportunities for professional growth throughout the region.

We thank Amber, David, and Kathleen for their exceptional service and for setting a high standard for the Diplomat Team.

Congratulations | Bill Warner Named January Diplomat of the Month

Even in retirement, Bill hasn’t slowed down. This past month, he poured an incredible amount of energy into the Chamber, proving that his expertise is as sharp as ever.

As a key player on our Diplomat team, Bill has become the “welcome wagon” for our newest members, personally guiding them through their benefits and ensuring they know exactly how to leverage Chamber resources for success.

But Bill’s impact doesn’t stop at networking. He’s never afraid to roll up his sleeves, playing a vital role in the heavy lifting behind our Signature Events. Most notably, his dedication was instrumental in the seamless setup and takedown of Taste of the Town, an undertaking that simply wouldn’t have been the same without his helping hand.

Bill, thank you for your tireless service, your mentorship to new members, and your unwavering commitment to this community. We are lucky to have you!

Be sure to thank Bill Warner when you see him at the next Chamber event or committee meeting.

Congratulations,Bill!
