Network in Action was created for the busy business owner who wants to network and have a relationship with those to whom they refer. Each NIA group meets monthly, and true to its name, NIA meetings are action packed! Every month the meeting agenda is different and interactive. By the time you leave, you will know at least 2 or 3 people better than you did when you walked in!
One introduction to the “right” person can be life changing. It could be an intro to your first big client, your best friend, or your spouse. Stacy Harris specializes in connecting business owners, decision makers and salespeople with people they need to meet to grow their businesses and serve their clients. She does this through the 5 franchises she owns with Network in Action (NIA).
Network in Action is a referral-based organization that puts businesspeople together in organized groups so that relationships can be built, trust can be earned and referrals can be made with confidence to those with whom each member interacts on a daily basis.
Stacy is a “matchmaker for business owners”. Each member is hand-picked and invited by Stacy to be in one of her groups.
In addition to the 5 monthly group meetings, Stacy hosts a weekly lunch (called Lunch Bunch). Each Tuesday she invites everyone from all 5 groups and visitors interested in NIA for lunch from 11:30-1:00. They meet at various local restaurants for a big, family style meal. Each Friday Stacy hosts Coffee Connection at The Kitchen from 9:30-11:00. Both events are come and go, casual events and anyone in the community who wants to network with local professionals is welcome to join. To view NIA’s monthly calendar, please check out their Facebook page: NIA The Woodlands.
If you are looking to network with established professionals and grow your referral partners and your business, then NIA is for YOU! Come check out one of their meetings in the new year. To contact Stacy, please email her at Stacy@ networkinaction.com. NIA The Woodlands would love to help you grow your business and meet that one person who could change the trajectory of your business and your life!
The November Spotlight Sponsor for Breakfast Connections was Taverit Marketing.
At Taverit Marketing they often discuss that profitable marketing takes place when a business owner uses the right strategy at the right time in the right way. In a world of endless possibilities to advertise your business, the below quote is really quite accurate even though it was spoken over 140 years ago.
John Wanamaker owned department stores in New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. He is known as the first retailer to have ever placed advertising in a newspaper publication. In 1974, he printed the first-ever, copyrighted store advertisement. Reference: pbs.org/ wgbh/theymadeamerica/whomade/ wanamaker_hi.html
The point of this short history lesson is this: there are 140+ years of research, case studies and tested marketing and advertising strategies. Best practices can be pulled from ore than 140+ years.
Simply put, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. And, those who attempt to do so, do it at their own peril.
Organizations that persist in trying new, untested marketing strategies and techniques are reinventing the wheel,
rather than using proven best practices. They face a steep leaning curve with the potential outcome of a failed business.
Be assured that Taverit Marketing bases all its marketing systems, techniques, strategies, and efforts on research and best practices. There is no “spitballing” or “shooting from the hip.” When it comes from your marketing dollars and how they are spent, Taverit Marketing spends them exactly where they should be spent.
If you are looking to increase the profitability of your marketing to grow your business, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Taverit.

Entergy Texas served as the host for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s November Business After Hours event. More than 70 people gathered at the Lake Front North office in The Woodlands to meet new faces, strengthen relationships, learn more about the community, and most importantly, bond over the upcoming Astros dominating the World Series!
Entergy Texas provides electricity to more than 486,000 customers in 27 counties. With headquarters in The Woodlands and Beaumont, our mission is to grow a world-class energy business that creates sustainable value for our four key stakeholders — our customers, employees, communities and owners. That means we do more than provide electric and natural gas service. It means we’re listening so we can continue to better serve, better support, and better build the future, together. Day in and day out, we’re working to improve lives, build businesses and create prosperity across our diverse communities.
Entergy is creating a cleaner, more resilient energy future for everyone with our diverse power generation portfolio, including increasingly carbon-free energy sources. We are growing our utility business by providing customers with energy at a reasonable cost, superior service, a commitment to safety, operational excellence and an engaged workforce.
With roots in the Gulf South region for more than a century, Entergy is a recognized leader in corporate citizenship, delivering more than $100 million in economic benefits to local communities through philanthropy and advocacy efforts annually over the last several years. In fact, just this year, the Houston Chronicle recognized Entergy Texas as a Top Workplace in the Greater Houston area. Our approximately 12,000 employees are dedicated to powering life today and for future generations.
Entergy Texas is a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in New Orleans. Entergy powers life for 3 million customers through its operating companies across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

We hope to see you at the next Breakfast Connections!
Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don’t know which half. ~John Wanamaker
The C.A.R.E.S. Committee recently had the opportunity to volunteer over a course of a few days with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the 2022 Children’s Festival: Under the Sea.
During School Days volunteers helped with set-up and welcoming thousands of students and teachers. This free field trip provided live performances and hands-on activities. The weekend was open to the public and the volunteers helped turn the pavilion into a playground for thousands of families.
Visit woodlandscenter.org to learn more about the various programs available at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The C.A.R.E.S. Committee meets at 3:00 p.m the first Wednesday of each month at The Chamber. If you have a heart for giving back to the community, join us.
In November, our guest was Dr. Ann Snyder, the newly elected Chairman of the Board for The Woodlands Township.
Dr. Snyder provided our committee with a presentation honoring Veterans Day with the following key topics of discussion:
• An update from The Woodlands Township regarding the Township history and building relationships within the community
• Discussed and voted on the Economic Development Resolution by the committee

These dedicated representatives can often be seen at our monthly Business Connection events.
The next time you are at a Chamber Event or Meeting, please take a moment to visit with a member of the Diplomat Team and thank them for their service. If you see Ashley at any upcoming Chamber Business Connection Events or team meetings, please be sure to congratulate her.
Congratulations, Ashley!
EDUCATION FOR TOMORROW ALLIANCE, along with Conroe ISD, The John Cooper School, and other area private schools will kick off the 33rd Annual SCI://TECH Exposition. SCI://TECH 2023, themed STEAM: Where Imagination Meets Design, starts January 20 with programming running through February. Each year, SCI://TECH activities offer 13 hands-on STEAM learning opportunities to more than 4,500 K-12 students with the support of 1,000 educators and volunteers.
The Woodlands Chamber hosted the second session for Leadership Master Class 1 on November 29. The session included a Live, Work, Play Panel including Dr. Ann Snyder of The Woodlands Township, Jenny Taylor of Market Street – The Woodlands, and Dr. Ryan Bare of HARC. The day’s Leader Roundtable included Jim Carman, President – Houston Region of The Howard Hughes Corporation; Dr. Debra Sukin, Regional SVP & CEO of Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital; and Elicier Viamontes, President and CEO of Entergy Texas. Gigi Woodruff joined us for the Leadership Toolkit, before the class embarked on inspiring tours of Spectrum Catering Concessions Events and Corporate Incentives.
The LMC Class of 2023 spent the day learning about federal, state, and local government at their Government Session on Dec. 1 sponsored by The U.S. Oncology Network/McKesson. The class heard from a municipal panel and a county government panel before lunch sponsored by All Star Catering. The afternoon included a judicial panel, state government panel, and a conversation with Congressman Kevin Brady. The class participated in a legislative simulation throughout the day and was the first class to pass their bill! The Bill Signing Ceremony was held that evening at the LMC Holiday Social, sponsored by Corporate Incentives and held at the Conroe Art League Gallery in downtown Conroe. A huge thank you to Angela Storseth and Sarah Henry for serving as Session Directors and planning a wonderful day for the class. And thank you to all of the elected officials and speakers that joined us.
Business and community volunteers play a key role in supporting student learning throughout the four weekends of programming. Volunteers play a key role during the Chevron Phillips Chemical Senior High Science Fair and the Entergy Junior High Science Fairs scheduled for Thursday, January 26 at the Lone Star Convention Center. Nearly 1,200 students are registered to participate with a life science, physical science, or engineering project. Volunteers are needed to serve as judges during 7:45 am, 9:30 am, and 2:00 pm time slots. Judging does not require a background in science, but rather a willingness to ask students questions.
“SCI://TECH allows students to learn and explore by doing,” shares Brian Pellon, VP R&D/Woodlands Operations for Huntsman Corporation and EfTA Board Member. “Throughout the month-long activities students interact with their peers, educators, and hundreds of dedicated community volunteers who provide feedback and encouragement to this next generation of innovators and leaders.”
Another highlight of SCI://TECH is Expo Day scheduled for February 4. Expo Day features the Huntsman Elementary Science Festival, the PBK Sci.Math.e.Lon, Math Bowl, and demonstrations for visitors to see scientific principles in action. Elementary students conduct STEAM activities for their peers to explore. The family-friendly festival is free and open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm on The Woodlands College Park High School campus.
Get involved as a volunteer or visitor! For a full SCI://TECH 2023 schedule, visit efta-us.org /scitech.
