The impact of your support is visible in every corner of our hospital and clinics. From the high-tech precision of our first surgical robot, “Stitch”— already utilized in over 300 successful procedures—to the enhanced visualization of our new LED surgical lights and the patient-centric mobile monitoring for our Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, our teams have been provided with the tools to excel. By investing in advancements like these, you ensure our community members have access to the latest medical innovations in a familiar, comfortable setting, which can make all the difference in a healing journey.

This year’s $850,000 in Greatest Needs Grants touched every department, ensuring the services our neighbors rely on are not only available but exceptional. We upgraded ICU beds, installed advanced LED surgical lighting, provided high-resolution retinal cameras for early disease detection, and even improved patient privacy in the Emergency Department. Beyond clinical equipment, gifts from our community fostered a healing environment for patients undergoing vital treatments. We recently celebrated the completion of the refreshed Lena Valente Tranquility Room at Woodland Memorial Hospital, where donor generosity transformed this essential sanctuary into a modern, peaceful haven for reflection, spiritual renewal, and restorative pauses for our dedicated staff.

Celebrating one year of precision at Woodland Memorial Hospital One year ago, thanks to our community’s generosity, we launched our robotic-assisted surgery program. Today, we are celebrating the tangible difference this technology has made for our neighbors. In just twelve months, our team has performed 330 surgeries, offering patients less pain, faster recovery times, and the peace of mind that comes with receiving advanced, minimally invasive care without the need for travel. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to excellence. By investing in this platform, we have empowered our surgeons to perform at the top of their field while allowing patients to heal in the comfort of their own homes. To our donors: thank you. This program belongs to you, and it has permanently redefined the standard of surgical care in Woodland and its surrounding communities. Elevating surgical excellence with Stryker Towers Woodland Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the acquisition of four stateof-the-art Stryker Surgical Towers, made possible by the generosity of The William & Hazel Boyce and Barbara Boyce Memorial Fund. By equipping each of our specialty surgical suites—including Urology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, and Gynecology—with this uniform technology, we are ensuring every patient, regardless of their procedure, receives the same high standard of surgical excellence. This integrated system optimizes procedures through: • Crystal-Clear Visualization: High-definition imaging for unparalleled detail and surgical precision. • Superior Illumination: Brighter, focused lighting that enhances clarity and reduces surgeon eye strain. • Streamlined Efficiency: An integrated design that simplifies OR workflow, saves valuable time, and supports faster recovery for our patients. Continuing a legacy of comfort The main room refresh of the Roger and Judy Kohlmeier Infusion Center Last year, Woodland Healthcare Foundation revitalized the private suites within the Roger and Judy Kohlmeier Infusion Center, transforming them into tranquil havens. Building on that success, we are now refreshing the Center’s main room. This central space, hosting 12 infusion stations, now mirrors the serene palette and cohesive design of the private suites. By updating window coverings and installing soothing artwork, we have ensured a more welcoming department. We will soon add 12 state-of-the-art infusion chairs— featuring heated seating and integrated technology— providing a sense of ease that will help patients focus on their healing. Beyond the physical upgrades, this refresh is creating a brighter, efficient environment for our staff, allowing them to provide care in a space as modern as it is comfortable. These improvements represent our commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care for our families, friends and neighbors. A renewed haven: Lena Valente Tranquility Room At Woodland Healthcare, we believe that healing extends far beyond clinical care—it is rooted in compassion, comfort, and the human spirit. In August, Woodland Healthcare Foundation was proud to host a rededication ceremony for the newly refreshed Lena Valente Tranquility Room, a space that serves as a cornerstone of peace for our entire community. Located conveniently near the main lobby, this sanctuary has long been a vital retreat. For over two decades, it has provided a quiet space for patients seeking solace, families navigating life’s most difficult moments, and our dedicated staff needing a brief, restorative pause. Recognizing the importance of this essential refuge, we recently completed a full revitalization of the room. With new flooring, calming decor, updated lighting, and comfortable furnishings, the space has been transformed into a modern haven for reflection and spiritual renewal. This project was made possible by the unwavering generosity of our donors, including Linda and Keith Volkerts (The George and Lena Valente Foundation), Craig Sharp, Rich Harrison, and Ernie and Kay Hodges. We were honored to have them join us to officially cut the ribbon on this beautiful transformation. The Lena Valente Tranquility Room is now officially open and available for use. In addition to making cash gifts, consider these three tax-advantaged giving methods that can potentially save you money while supporting Woodland Healthcare Foundation's vital mission: Stock Gifts By donating appreciated stocks, you can provide substantial support to Woodland Healthcare and potentially avoid capital gains taxes. You will receive a charitable deduction based on the market value of the donated stock on the day the transfer was made. Donor-Advised Funds More and more people are working with their financial advisors to set up a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), which can serve as your own charitable savings account.
