F&B NEWS

Happy New Year From Food & Beverage! As we welcome 2026, we look ahead with optimism and a renewed sense of purpose. A new year always brings fresh energy—an opportunity to reflect, reset, and continue building the strong community that makes Woodbridge so special.

FOOD & BEVERAGE UPDATE

BY KELLEY MORI FOOD & BEVERAGE DIRECTOR

Woodbridge is proud to be part of a longstanding grape-growing and winemaking region, one that has shaped the character of our area for generations. Like many industries, local vineyards and wineries have faced recent challenges, from shifting consumer trends to climaterelated impacts. These moments remind us how important it is to support the people and businesses that help define our community. Supporting our local wine industry goes beyond enjoyment—it helps preserve a vital part of our regional heritage and contributes to the health of our local economy. Whether it’s choosing locally produced wines, attending tastings and events, or learning more about sustainable vineyard practices, every small effort makes a meaningful difference. We encourage members to engage with this rich part of our community throughout the year—explore local wines, connect with area vintners, and take part in experiences that celebrate the craft and care behind each bottle. Together, we can turn today’s challenges into opportunities to strengthen our connections and support the region we are proud to call home. Here’s to a rewarding and fruitful year ahead. Thank you for your continued involvement, support, and commitment to Woodbridge and our grape-growing community.

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

2025 IN REVIEW

Building Membership Momentum As we look back on 2025, it was a strong year for Woodbridge membership — marked by steady progress and a more focused approach to how we attract, welcome, and retain members. Despite continued post-COVID challenges across the private club industry — particularly in golf memberships — Woodbridge finished the year ahead of plan. • •

New membership sales exceeded goal, with 64 new members joining the Club compared to a budget of 56. Attrition came in better than expected, with 70 resignations versus 77 budgeted, helping maintain a healthy overall membership level.

Behind the scenes, 2025 reflected a more intentional and consistent approach — from clearer communication and promotions to stronger follow-up with prospective members and ongoing engagement with current members. These refinements helped the Club perform well in a market that remains competitive and evolving.

Looking Ahead: 2026 Goals

In 2026, the membership focus is on steady, thoughtful growth paired with strong retention — building on what’s working while continuing to adapt to how members use the Club today. •

•

BY KRISTINE ROBERSON MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR

Attract new members through continued local outreach, referrals, and targeted digital visibility that highlights the full Woodbridge lifestyle — golf, dining, fitness, tennis, events, and community. Connect members earlier and more intentionally,

•

with an emphasis on welcoming new members, strengthening communication, and encouraging participation across Club offerings so members feel engaged and valued from the start. Engage members and prospects through well-timed promotions, seasonal programs, and invitations to experience the Club in ways that feel natural and relationship-driven.

The 2026 plan is designed to support a healthy mix of golf and non-golf memberships, maintain strong Full Member Equivalent levels, and ensure Woodbridge remains a vibrant, active, and welcoming community for both current and future members. The goal for 2026 is simple: continue growing the Woodbridge community in a thoughtful, sustainable way — welcoming new members, strengthening connections with current ones, and protecting the long-term health of the Club for years to come.

A Note on the Legacy Program

As part of this effort, members are reminded that the Legacy Program remains an excellent opportunity for families to grow their connection to Woodbridge. Eligible relatives of current members may join with $0 initiation fees, and Social members may upgrade to Golf with no upgrade fee, effective immediately. Whether welcoming the next generation or expanding your own membership experience, the Legacy Program is designed to make it easier to enjoy more of what Woodbridge has to offer.

JANUARY 2026

DECEMBER’S NEW MEMBERS December brought a wonderful mix of returning friends, growing families, and new energy to the Club. Each of our newest members shares a connection to community, family, and an active lifestyle—and we’re excited to have them here. Please join us in giving them a warm Woodbridge welcome. Melba Thomas joins us as a Dining Member, sponsored by Pat Coon. Now retired, Melba is no stranger to the club lifestyle and has been a longtime member of Sequoia Woods Country Club since 1990, participating in both 9-hole and 18-hole ladies golf. We’re happy to have her enjoying Woodbridge’s dining and social atmosphere. Ava Cantu is our newest Youth Tennis Member, and a great example of the next generation discovering a love for the game. Ava comes from a Lodi family that has been part of the community for more than 50 years. Currently attending St. Anne’s Catholic School and heading to Lodi High School next year, Ava is excited to continue developing her tennis skills through Woodbridge’s lessons and programs. We’re thrilled to support her growth on and off the court.

The Legacy Program: Where Membership Becomes a Family Tradition At Woodbridge, some of our most meaningful connections don’t start on the first tee or at the dinner table, they start at home. The Legacy Program was created to honor the families who choose to make the Club part of their story, generation after generation.

Philip and Summer Lange return to Woodbridge as Full Golf Members, sponsored by Aaron Lange. A local farming family with deep roots in the area, Philip is the owner of LangeTwins Winery and a returning Woodbridge member. With two daughters and a shared love of golf and community, the Lange family embodies the spirit of connection that makes the Club special.

If you have children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, or siblings who’ve been thinking about joining, the Legacy Program offers a simple and generous way to welcome them in. Legacy referrals receive $0 initiation with a two-year membership commitment. This is a meaningful savings and an easy “yes” for families ready to spend more time together.

Lance and Anna McHan, sponsored by Pat Coon, also join as Full Golf Members with their two children. Lance is a broker associate with Cornerstone Real Estate Group and serves on the boards of Delta Humane Society and Lilypad Living Outreach, reflecting a strong commitment to giving back. Anna is a teacher with Stockton Unified School District. Drawn to the Club for its camaraderie, culture, and family-friendly environment, the McHans are excited to be active participants in golf, social events, and community life.

The Legacy Program also supports members who are ready to grow their own club experience. Sports and Dining Members may upgrade to a Golf Membership with no upgrade fee, also with a two-year commitment. It’s an easy transition for those who’ve fallen in love with the Club and are ready to add tee times, tournaments, and the full golf lifestyle to their routine.

We’re grateful each of these members chose Woodbridge and look forward to seeing them around the Club—on the course, courts, at the table, and at our events. Be sure to say hello and help make them feel right at home. FULL GOLF: 463

JANUARY 2026

At its heart, the Legacy Program is about continuity— shared rounds, familiar faces, Sunday dinners, and watching the next generation make memories of their own. If someone in your family has been waiting for the right moment to join, this might be it. If you’d like more details or want to start a Legacy referral, reach out to Kristine in the Membership Office. We’d love to help you keep the Woodbridge tradition in the family.

A Championship Season and a Strong Foundation for 2026 NCGA Players League – State Championship

The NCGA/SCGA Players League is an all-gross team competition, and Woodbridge Golf & Country Club had an outstanding 2025 season. The team won its local grouping and the Northern California Sectional title, earning a spot in the California State Players League Championship. Representing Woodbridge were AJ Hohn, Danny Miladinovich, Jason Reich, Tony Verna, Ross Vilinskas, Kevin Wolf, and Ryan Williams. At Poppy Hills Golf Course on December 15, the final four teams competed for the state title. Woodbridge finished second with 25 points. Hacienda Golf Club claimed the championship with 39 points, while Whitney Oaks Golf Club and Rancho Park Golf Course tied for third at 24 points. Congratulations to all players on a terrific season.

Golf Operations: 2025 Highlights & 2026 Goals

2025 Highlights Golf Operations finished 2025 under budget, with cost of goods sold near the 80% target. The Golf Shop delivered consistent, welcoming service supported by strong staff tenure and morale, while a full tournament calendar ran smoothly with solid participation. Outside Services improved with the addition of a lead staff member, creating better consistency in cart staging, range setup, and overall presentation. Golf Instruction remained a key strength, with strong engagement across lessons, clinics, Operation 36, junior camps, and PGA Junior League programs.

2026 Goals In 2026, Golf Operations will focus on maintaining budget discipline, improving margins where possible, and encouraging broad participation across Men’s, Women’s, Couples, and Junior programs. Priorities include member retention, welcoming new members, and managing tee times to benefit the full membership. Service enhancements will continue as staffing allows, with attention to bag drop coverage, practice area presentation, and member attentiveness. Merchandise goals include high-quality product offerings, competitive pricing, and improved inventory turnover. Ongoing staff development, progress in the PGA Apprentice Program, and continued collaboration with the Grounds team will remain key areas of focus.

Golf Rules

Last Month’s Question In match play, Player A lifts their ball from the putting green without marking it. Player B then does the same and claims the hole due to a general penalty. What is the ruling? Answer Player B is incorrect. Both players receive a one-stroke penalty and must replace their balls (Rule 13.1b; Rule 14.1). This Month’s Question During rain, a player holds an umbrella with one hand while holing a short putt with the other. What is the ruling?

ON THE COURSE

BY LOU SILVEIRA GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

Caring for the Course: A Year in Review and What’s Ahead for 2026 As the 2025 golf season comes to a close, the Agronomy Team would like to take a moment to wish you and your families a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year. We are grateful for the opportunity to care for the golf course you enjoy and for the continued support and trust from our membership. Looking back on 2025, we are proud of the positive progress made across the property. One of our primary accomplishments this year has been improved turf uniformity throughout the golf course, particularly on greens and key playing surfaces. Consistent cultural practices, refined fertility programs, and attention to detail have resulted in healthier turf and improved playability. We also invested in new equipment, including upgraded greens mowers, allowing us to provide more precise mowing and smoother, more consistent putting surfaces. Additionally, through improved irrigation practices and careful water management, we successfully

reduced overall annual water usage— an important step toward long-term sustainability. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited about the continued improvements planned for Woodbridge. Major initiatives include the start of the bunker refresh project, which will focus on playability, consistency, and improved drainage. We will also be supporting upcoming restroom remodels and addressing needed cart path repairs to enhance safety, aesthetics, and overall member experience. These projects, combined with our ongoing agronomic practices, will help ensure the course continues to improve while maintaining the character and conditions you expect. Thank you again for your support, patience during maintenance activities, and pride in Woodbridge Golf & Country Club. We look forward to building on this year’s success and delivering another great year of golf in 2026.

GOLF ACADEMY

BY RYAN WILLIAMS PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL

January’s Tip of the Month

The Best Rounds Are the Ones You Want to Repeat It is easier to look back on the year with clarity after having finally finished my tournament golf schedule for 2025. With tournaments looming on the horizon, I found myself stressing over the many details of preparation—technique in the full swing, short game and putting; fitness and speed training; simulated competitive reps. With all of those things bouncing around in my head, at times it was difficult to see the forest through the trees. Especially in the case of the California Cup Matches (NCPGA vs. SCPGA), a Ryder Cup–style match that includes the 16 best playing PGA Professionals in the state, I allowed the specter of that tournament to lord over almost every part of my life. Being on the other side now has given me the clarity I wished I had before. The tournament even had the result I feared (we lost handily and I lost both of my matches). In a conversation with my wife the evening I returned home, I told her how silly I felt letting fear of a bad result rob me of my ability to enjoy life, a feeling exaggerated by the fact that she is (at the time of this writing), 6 months pregnant. That conversation stuck with me, because the lesson applies just as much to our weekly games at the club as it does to elite competition and is majorly shaping the way I’m looking at personal goals for 2026.

Make Enjoyment the Priority, Not the Reward One of the most common traps golfers fall into is treating enjoyment as something they earn after playing well. We tell ourselves, “I’ll relax once I start scoring better,” or “I’ll enjoy this round if I’m under par.” The reality is that it works the other way around.

12

When enjoyment becomes the priority: • Tension decreases • Decision-making improves • Swings become freer and more athletic

accepting where you are right now. Some days you have your “A” swing, and some days you don’t. Playing smart, patient golf with what you brought that day is not giving in—it’s maturity.

Enjoyment doesn’t mean a lack of care or competitiveness. It means recognizing that golf is a game we choose to play. When you give yourself permission to enjoy the walk, the company, and the challenge— regardless of outcome—you often find your best golf shows up more frequently.

Let Results Be Information, Not Identity

A simple mindset shift can help: judge the day by your engagement, not your score. Did you stay present? Did you commit to your shots? Did you respond well after mistakes? Those are wins that compound over time.

Be Secure Enough to Play the Game Your Way

At a country club, it’s easy to feel influenced by how others play, swing, or score. Comparison can quietly creep in and create pressure to chase someone else’s version of “good golf.” The most relaxed and consistent players are secure enough to: • Play conservative when that suits them • Choose clubs that match their tendencies, not their ego • Swing at a tempo that feels natural, even if it looks different There is no bonus for style points. The game doesn’t care how you get the ball in the hole, only that you do. When you trust your tendencies and commit to your decisions, anxiety fades and confidence grows.

One of the hardest lessons I learned from that tournament stretch is that poor results don’t define you as a golfer or a person. They are simply feedback. When we attach our identity to outcomes, we give them far too much power. Instead, view each round as data: • What held up under pressure? • What needs attention in practice? • What can I do better next time? This approach keeps the game productive without making it heavy.

A Final Thought

Golf has a way of exposing our relationship with control, expectations, and self-worth. The irony is that when we loosen our grip on outcomes and allow ourselves to enjoy the process, we often play better. My hope for our members is simple: Play with intention, compete with passion, but never at the expense of joy. Having played many holes of golf with most of you, seeing how well you’re doing with this part of the game is something I consider a huge part of my job. It is for these reasons that I spend as much time on the course with students as I do. After all, the best rounds aren’t always the lowest scores—they’re the ones that make you eager to come back tomorrow. Here’s to a joyful 2026!

Security in your game also means

Good Cigars, Great Food, & Even Better Company: What’s Ahead for the Cigar Club BY KEVIN WOLF CIGAR CLUB CHAIR

I’d like to start by thanking Matt, Kelley, and their staff for a fantastic meal following the Lewis and Clark Adventure. Matt spent more than two days slow-roasting that beef leg, and it truly showed. It was great to enjoy something new and exceptionally well done—nice work to the entire team. This year is shaping up to be an exciting one for the Cigar Club. We’re hoping to plan a spring trip and are currently exploring Silverado and a few other overnight options. We’re also adding a brand-new event to the calendar this year: a Whiskey, Cigar, and Tomahawk Steak Dinner. Sazerac will be providing a selection of spirits to taste, the Cigar Club will supply the cigars (including some Buffalo Trace cigars), and Chef Matt will be grilling tomahawk steaks. Dinner will be served family-style on the front patio so we can enjoy great bourbon, great cigars, and great company. Sign-ups will open in February—keep an eye out, as this event is expected to sell out quickly. Please mark your calendars for our 2026 events: • April 22 • May 20 • July 23 • August 20 • September 18 – Glow Ball • October 7 – 14 Club Challenge • December 6 – Lewis and Clark Adventure For those who may not know, you don’t have to smoke cigars to be a member. The Cigar Club is about fun, golf-themed events that bring members together. Annual dues are $50, and members receive something at every event—definitely a great value. I look forward to seeing familiar faces next year and welcoming new members as well. If you have any questions about the club, please feel free to email me at Kevin.wolf@nm.com.

WOMEN’S GOLF UPDATE

December Highlights December was a short month marked by wet, chilly weather. We held our Christmas party early in the month, thanks to Beth Handel and Rita Kooyman for hosting a wonderful event. We also continued our tradition of members decorating the table centerpieces, which always adds a festive and personal touch. During the celebration, we presented our 2025 awards—congratulations to all of the winners. Our Most Improved Golfer for the year was Donna Brundy. This year also brought six new members to the group: Cindy Ciboch, Cheryl Spector, Wendy Koster, Christy Frank, Laura Dakis, and Nancey Little. We’re thrilled to have you with us. As we move into 2026, Kim D’Angelo and Laura Reeves will continue serving as co-captains. We also welcome Cheryl Spector and Jane DeWitt to the board. We’re all looking forward to another great year with the WWGA. Finally, thank you to all of the Woodbridge staff for everything they do to help make our year fun and successful. Patty Anderson and Pat Kishida rallied their teams for the Intra-Club match, with Pat’s Patriots edging out Patty’s Stars by three and a half points.

Winter and Spring Highlights

Guest Days and the Invitational

February brought unusually wet weather, but luck was on our side as we enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Party hosted by Sondra Huff and Diane Gardemeyer. While some members traveled to Mexico, excitement followed news that Sharon D’Angelo scored a hole-inone, and Linda Fyffe discovered a new fondness for alligators. March continued with unpredictable weather, yet participation remained strong. Although rain dampened our Charity Day, Marolyn Watts and Patty Anderson persevered and raised $400 for Lodi & Tokay Girls’ Golf.

Team Play and Tournaments

Team play began in April, with Woodbridge hosting the first round. While we did not retain the title, our team performed well throughout the season. The first Guest Day, hosted by Jean Devine and Betty Sacher, welcomed 54 players and was a great success. May featured the Handicap Tournament using a new format and saw excellent participation. Congratulations to Donna Brundy, our Handicap Champion. June was a quieter month, with several invitations and a Guest Day at another club. A raffle basket was held to raise funds for the Invitational, with special thanks to the Tokay tournament and our male members who purchased raffle tickets. A generous donation of Giants and A’s tickets from Bryan Good helped raise $1,500.

Summer Activities and Achievements

JANUARY 2026

August marked the Sadie Hawkins Guest Day, expertly organized by Joy Sasaki and Rene Donaldson, with 56 participants. Next came the highly anticipated Hippie Hitters Invitational, prepared throughout the year by Kim D’Angelo, Laura Reeves, Jean Devine, Ginny Pelton, and Donna Brundy. With 94 players, the event was a tremendous success. Special thanks to the Woodbridge staff— including Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Office, and the Pro Shop—for helping bring this event to life. As September came to a close, a new Club Champion was crowned: Jamie Martin, who played three outstanding rounds.

Fall Events and Traditions

October featured DWS play, and we bid farewell to Del Rio, while looking ahead to Spring Creek joining next year. The month ended with a lively Halloween party hosted by Beth Grady, Becky Goehring, and Vickie Gallego. Beth Grady also welcomed several new members: Cindy Ciboch, Cheryl Spector, Wendy Koster, Christy Frank, Laura Dakis, and Nancey Little. We also paused to remember Sandy Freeman, who passed away earlier in the year. Members Cynthia Neely, Erin DeVries, Raquel Casity, and Francie Mathews departed the group. Beth Handel and Rita Kooyman organized both the Turkey Shoot and the Christmas Party. The Turkey Shoot returned this year, with some members heading home with a turkey in hand. Christmas traditions continued with members decorating tables, and congratulations once again to Donna Brundy, named Most Improved Golfer for 2025.

Fore Tee Niners Ring in 2026 with Fun, Friendship, & Fairways FORE-TEE NINERS 2026 CAPTAIN BY DONNA AARONS

As we close out 2025, the Fore Tee Niners wish everyone a happy and healthy 2026. With the recent chilly weather, participation has been lighter, but those who braved the temperatures were rewarded with the beauty of the course this time of year. The trees are stunning, and all is well—unless, of course, you’re trying to find an orange golf ball. Our winter holiday party on Dec 11 was well attended and a great time was had by all. We enjoyed a round of Mystery Golf, where winners were determined by the highest scores and the most putts. No names were mentioned—but the winners did head home with snowman golf balls. A delicious lunch and dessert followed, thanks to our wonderful kitchen staff.

Most Pars: Shannon Hagen Most Birdies: Christy Frank Most Chip-Ins: Kathy Cockayne Most Scores Under 50: Shannon Hagen Most Scores Under 60: Donna Aarons

On Dec 18, we enjoyed a round of stroke play in temperatures that finally felt closer to normal. It was a beautiful and fun day on the Lake Course. Donna Aarons finished in first place, Rhonda Craig took second—despite not playing with her own clubs (great round, Rhonda!)—and Kathy Cockayne rounded out the field in third. A special thank-you goes to Jennie Fuller for her outstanding service as treasurer and to Barb Parejo for stepping into the role of secretary this year. We look forward to many more rounds of fun golf and great camaraderie in 2026. Donna Aarons Fore Tee Niner Captain
