A NOTE FROM MRS. ROD A question for you to ask your child at the dinner table: Who are you when no one is watching? We know adolescents are often trying on “hats” and pushing boundaries, which is developmentally appropriate. And, we have seen a huge uptick in behavior that is pushing more into the unkind and unhelpful space. It’s important that you talk to your child about how: who they are when no one is watching is just as important as who they are when people (especially adults) are watching. Just because you think you can get away with doing or saying something because no one is watching doesn’t mean you should do it. Building the self-discipline to do what is right, and best for them and the community, even when no one is watching, is such an important life skill.
