I want to reiterate the deep importance of parents being plugged in right now, particularly with how your child is communicating with others and engaging with technology and social media. Plug into their conversations with friends: ask questions and stop conversations if they are inappropriate. Plug into text messages and group chats. Active monitoring helps students understand they are being held accountable. Remove your child from group chats that are getting out of hand and loop other parents in. Plug into social media - you need to be friends with them and see the content they are creating, viewing, and sharing. Help your child understand what aligns with your family values and what does not.
