What began as a proposal debated in zoning meetings, has matured into a thriving community. Nearly 30 years later, Westlake Village stands as a testament to the idea that thoughtful development can blend natural features, recreational amenities and residential life into a lasting community.
HOABoardHappenings:
Cart Path Paving Phase 2: The HOA Board is currently reviewing 4 bids obtained for the project of repaving the cart path.
Audit of Westlake Finances: Board will be researching firms to conduct the audit.
Reserve Asset Study: The study has been completed and the results presented to the HOA board are available for your review. The study provides a ‘life analysis’ of all WLV property elements and the associated finances required to maintain or replace these elements over the next 25-30 years. Contact Gina at the office to be sent an electronic version of the study.
Wetlands/Lagoon/Lake Maintenance: Under the supervision of Grade Solutions and as ground conditions stabilize in late spring, Grade Solutions will initiate the mechanical dredging of the lagoons. It will include cleaning the creek channel as well as increasing capacity of the two main holding lagoons for future hydraulic dredging operations. This will likely be a 3-5 week process.
New Pool Furniture: The pool area is now furnished with new chairs and tables for the summer season. Enjoy!

Communications Committee / Villager: The Communications Committee met on May 18, 2026, at Rosie’s in Pecatonica to review the articles for the upcoming June Villager. The committee discussed various events coming up in our area this summer, the WestlakeVillagesignageofrulesandregulationsforthe lake,pool,parksandfishing,alongwithother topics.TheJuneVillagerpromisestobeenjoyableaswell asinformative. TheVillagerteamisreachingout to anyone who may be interested in joining our Communications Committee, as Val Jewell is stepping down for medical reasons. We all want to thank her for her dedicated volunteer spirit and professional contribution over numerous years, at Westlake Village, and would welcome her back in a heartbeat! WESTLAKE VILLAGE POOL
Welcome to the 2026 swimming season! Kicking off with some beautiful new pool furniture this year for your comfort. As a bonus some of the old pool chairs have been moved down to the beach in the event you want to sun out by the lake or play in the sand! We ask that you place your chair back on the stack when you’re done using it to keep the beach free of clutter and chairs ready for the next guest.
As a reminder no glass is permitted in the pool area. Glass in the pool would require draining, cleaning and starting over and delayed pool fun.
Neither smoking, nor vaping is permitted in the pool area. Please use designated smoking area.
Pool attendants cannot allow entry for those with nonworking swipe cards. Please be sure to stop in to the office to make sure your cards are working.
Water aerobics will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday at 8:15 beginning June 9th. Come on down and enjoy the fun.

While we have some returning pool attendants we do have some newbies as well. Please feel free to send a private message here any time if you have any concerns or compliments of a specific staff person.
Pool attendants will typically be on site between 9:307:30pm, excluding specific situations or days. As a reminder they are not lifeguards (though they have received safety training) and it’s encouraged to provide dedicated adult supervision while children are in the pool area.
We will try to post updates on Facebook regarding any repairs, closures or weather alerts that might impact the pool. Have a fun swim season!
Pool Season 2026
The new pool furniture was a welcomed update to our WLV community pool. We are re-purposing the old furniture at the beach and community center.
The new furniture consists of: 20-chairs, 6-tables, 28chaise lounges. The recycled, American made materials made the choice easier. The tables are Polywood® and the chairs are resin. Recycle seems to be the subject.
A big thank you to my faithful pool committee of Dick and Cindy Gorman. We devoted one day to repainting the side tables and putting on new leg protectors.
(I am sure that the next time I call them with an idea, they will pretend to haveplans.)
This was phase 1 and phase 2 in 2027 includes a sling shade and picnic tables .

Parker Volk Breaks Two School Records
Parker Volk placed 4th in 1600 M setting a new school record of 4:51.18. and he also placed 4th in the 800 M setting a new school record of 2:09.76 at state track meet on May 16, 2026. Congratulations to an amazing student and athlete!!
