Julie stated they have two bids and will be going forward with that.

Social/Events: Angel Tree, as always, WLV residents came together to make sure families that needed a little help had a special Christmas. The holiday lighting contest winners were posted in January’s 2026 Villager and were contacted by the office to pick up their cash prize. WLV would like to thank Rockford Family Dental for sponsoring the Cookies and Cocoa with Santa and Lady and the Tramp for their performance during that event. The Gazebo and Tree lighting was provided by The Boose’s and installed by Brandon Lance of Lakeside Lighting. The whole event had a very nice turn out and was enjoyed by all who attended on that chilly Sunday afternoon. Communications Committee / Villager: The Communications Committee (CC) met on December 8, 2025, at WLV Community Center to review articles for the December Villager. There were many articles to report on but all content for the Villager was ultimately selected, assigned and completed by our team to present a comprehensive newsletter that was informative, resourceful, and hopefully enjoyable to read.
The Villager is accessible via multiple media options; online on the ISSUU Platform accessed via links submitted by Gina on her WLV Email notifications, and three groups on Facebook: Westlake Village Residents, Neighbor's Connection, Ladies of Westlake. Also, residents can access the Villager at: https:// www.wlvhoa.com/home.asp and login to their account to read and print at home, or obtain a printed copy in the brochure box outside of WLV's Community Center or in the office during regular business hours.
The CC Team sent out renewal notices to the (10) Villager advertisers on record as of 2025. We've received (8) renewals, (2) advertisers declined and have added (4) new advertisers. The ad price is $12 for individual months or $100 for an annual ad (12 issues). ROCKFORD When Steve Lambert was 13 years old, his father brought home a rusty 1986 K5 Blazer to help foster his son’s interest in automobiles.
“I put it in the garage and said, ‘We’re going to make it into something you want to drive,'” said Mike Lambert, Steve’s father. “It just lit him up from there.”
That was the first vehicle Steve Lambert rebuilt. Now, he’s built a business out of doing the same for customers from all across the country.
He’s spent the past 17 years building Tailor Made Autoworks into a hot rod destination for restoring automotive heirlooms, revamping vintage vehicles, and building custom creations.

On Friday, Tailor Made Autoworks cut the ribbon on its new home at 4623 Boeing Drive in an industrial sector of south Rockford. It moved from Freeport into a larger facility here that spans 8,600 square feet with a 3,200 square-foot mezzanine.

The shop is also home to partnering businesses Details R Us, formerly Dave’s Detail, and Fogel Custom Upholstering.
Tailor Made is a three-man operation with Mike and Steve Lambert and Carlos Ramirez, a family friend for two decades.

Steve Lambert, now 37, said he’s driven by the challenge to get better each day, meticulously taking on custom projects and rebuilding classics. “We went from just putting a car together to now making sure that the slots on a flat-head screw line up,” he said. “We love that attention to detail and that challenge and the clients that appreciate that.”

Among the projects on the shop floor on Friday was a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass, which is undergoing a restoration modification. That means its vintage look will be preserved, but the antiquated mechanical systems are replaced with modern high-performance parts.
“It will function just like a new car, it will have Bluetooth. All those type of fun things that we expect out of a vehicle today, but it will look completely old,” Steve Lambert said. “There’s a lot of hidden work into something like this to make it look old but completely modern.”

Another restoration is of a 1954 Chevy Bel Air, which, among other fixes, is being outfitted with a custom trunk that will allow a five-piece band to plug in and play.
Collectors and automotive enthusiasts come to Tailor Made from across the country. There were some from as near as Freeport and Chicago this week, and another from Arizona.
Tailor made handles everything from high end paint work to metal fabrication, building chassis and drive lines, and handling other restoration and collision repairs for classic vehicles.
“We specialize in stuff that isn’t specialized,” Steve Lambert said.
“We do one-off machine work. We do one-off fabrication work. We found a little bit of a niche there, where so many people are under production it’s hard to get that one part made.”
An average rebuild can take around 5,000 man hours, but they work on a wide range of projects with different scopes.
“In the end, it’s just to keep this stuff alive and make people happy, and ourselves in the process,” Steve Lambert said. “The ability to be able to be better every single day and, frankly, watch people cry when they pick up their car.”
Steve Lambert has also worked as an adjunct instructor in the auto body program at Highland Community College, which he did for 13 years.
He hopes to incorporate an educational component into the Rockford shop in the future.
He was teaching and building his business as it started pick up more and more clients. “One thing after another, we have never not had work,” Steve Lambert said. “All of a sudden budgets would get bigger. We just kept going. People would come with crazy ideas and trust us to make it happen. Here we are 17 years later.”
Mike Lambert said the work has been his passion since he was 14 years old, roughly the same age his son was when they rebuilt their first car together.
“There’s just something about the styling of old stuff that we can’t seem to do in this day and age,” Mike Lambert said. “It makes my heart sing to have built this business with my son, and it’s his passion now.”

BOARD APPROVES PHASES II and III FOR NEW THEATER PPT has now signed an agreement with Dave Zimmerman of DPI for Phase II and Phase III of the new theater at 202 W. Third Street. Phase II will involve developing the final architectural drawings for the renovation of the existing Bennett construction building and construction of the addition. Once these drawings are completed, we will be able to get firm quotes for the work. Phase III will be the construction phase of the project which we hope to begin by late spring. Although we have not raised the entire amount to complete the new theater, we are close enough to begin the next phases.
The Miracle on Third Stret Capital Campaign will continue to solicit funds until we have reached our goal.
