Have fun. Part of being a parent, step-parent, guardian or friend to children is to enjoy each event on their level. The number of fish caught, the species of fish or the size of fish is not important.
It is important for children to enjoy the outdoors and fishing. Make this trip one of many such bonding experiences. You can introduce kids to nature, the value of the environment, the importance of fish and game laws and the biology and habitat of fish. The “fun” part is most important, so that they will want to go fishing again. Such trips will help cement relationships and help children learn about a sport that they can enjoy their entire lives. This 5k fun run is a fundraiser for Healing Herd Therapy Farm, proceeds from the run directly impact kids with special needs in our community by providing free animal assisted therapy on the farm.
The course will be a scenic off-road fun run consisting of 3 one mile loops at Gretta’s Goats in Pecatonica, IL. Loops will follow our goat hike trail and will feature a twisty half mile section through our woods and a rolling mowed trail that passes next to our pastures.
While running you will get to see the goats, guardian dogs and our two sweet donkeys frolicking in the pastures. Please be aware that there is some uneven ground and a portion of the run will be on a dirt trail. All of the run will be on either dirt or grass.

The Pecatonica Memorial Day Parade is the second largest in Illinois and the longest-running in Northern Illinois. New acts this year as well as all of your favorites!
The Pecatonica Memorial Day Parade starts at 2:00 PM sharp, but come early to secure a highly-coveted spot on Main Street, and don’t forget to bring something to cart-off all the candy that you can catch at the parade!

JOSTENS Cap and Gown Delivery: Monday MARCH 31st duringlunches
LAST FULL DAY OF ATTENDANCE: May 9, 2025 (11:15Dismissal)
SENIOR FINALS: May 12,13. (Mon, Tues) Finals will be taken in the small gym during the testing schedule. You may not reschedule your finals ahead of time, nor may you take them all in one day. Periods 1 - 4 will be taken on Monday, and periods 5 - 8 will be taken on Tuesday.
SENIOR CLASS TRIP: (Thursday) MAY 15. More information to come soon. We will be headed up to Lake Geneva for a boat tour and lunch
LOCKER CLEAN OUT AND FEES DUE: (Wednesday) MAY14
The office will notify you of any final fees prior to Tuesday, May 13th. All materials must be returned, fees paid and lockers cleaned out prior to May 15th. You will not be eligible to participate in Graduation Practice if these are not completed.
AWARDS NIGHT: MAY 16, 7:00 p.m. This is a night to recognize excellence in the student body. Students receiving awards and scholarships will be notified in advance with a formal invitation by email This is a formal occasion and we will have many invited guests from the community as well as scholarship presenters.
FINAL FAREWELL: MAY 16, 1:00 p.m. Optional activity to walk through the elementary and middle school one last time. Arrive in your cap and gown. We will take a school bus over to the Elementary and Middle Schools where we will take a victory lap through the buildings. Teachers/ students will line the halls, clap and cheer for you. We will come back to the HS and do the same. This is not required.
GRADUATION PRACTICE MAY 16: immediately following the walk until approximately 1:30 pm. (or until we have adequately practiced). Please bring your cap and gown and the shoes you intend to wear to graduation.

Always carry the WLV Red Bucket when fishing.
Walking/Cart Path speed limit - 10mph for golf carts and motorized scooters.

Garbage cans are to be stored in your garage or alongside your home using proper screening.
ARC approval is required if screening Garbage Cans.
Cans must be totally enclosed and aesthetically pleasing.

Section VI: Property Maintenance Regulations:
6.1. Street Appearance: The front (side street) of every home, condominium and townhome along with the front yard, back yard, side yard and driveway shall be kept neat and tidy to present a positive appearance. All green spaces, including lawns, flower beds, shrubbery, and areas around trees, should be kept free of debris. Debris includes, but is not limited to, trash, litter, yard waste, weeds, pet waste, and discarded items.
B: Any yard decoration (s) must be tasteful and maintained so as not to give the appearance of clutter or disrepair. All decorations and play items shall be stored out of sight when not in use.
6.2 All lots, whether developed or vacant, must be mowed and kept free of the unsightly growth of vegetation and weeds.
NOTE: Vegetation, weeds and lawn in general exceeding (6) inches in height shall be deemed “unsightly”.
Section VII: Architectural Review Committee:
7.4 H Yard Lights: All homes require a post-mounted light. This may be either electric or solar. The required light shall be on the mailbox post and maintained in working order.
7.5 B Political signs, flags or other similar media are allowable 30 days prior to an election but must be removed within 2 days after such election. Political signs, flags and other similar media shall not exceed 30” high x 30” wide. No more than one sign per candidate shall be permitted on a resident’s personal property. Property to include, yet not limited to: house, yard, mailbox, and patio/deck. Continued flying of flags after 2 days is not permitted and will be subject to fine.
NOTE: Lots which adjoin 2 separate roads may have a sign on each road and must comply with Regulation 7.4.B.

Appendix 10.3-Tiered Fine Structure: Minor Violations will be adjusted to $100 and major violations will be adjusted to $200.

Communications Committee / Villager:
The Communications Committee met on March 17th and reviewed the articles for the April Villager and discussed various topics. The April Villager is out. Under the auspices of the Communications Committee, we have taken responsibility for the bulletin board in the Community Center. Nancy Peistrup is heading up the effort with the assistance of the entire committee.
A suggestion was made to allow business cards on the bulletin board on a limited basis if kept neat and for a month or less. In the meantime, business cards can be placed on the countertop in the community center office. The committee is considering a Garden Walk.
The next Meeting of the Communications Committee with take place Wednesday, April 16th at 2:00 pm. The location will be furnished upon request.
