25 years later, Bowling Green still remembers 9/11

Warren County Public Library gets loud for punk rock

Families and college students alike came to The Library Rocks!, a free concert sponsored by the Warren County Public Library for all ages held at The Capitol theatre. Three local bands played at the show: Manami, Knifey and Twin Fang. Contractor for The Capitol, Melody Glover, said that the library has hosted The Library Rocks! four times so far. WKU Football’s desire for an upset victory at Sanford Stadium was short lived, as the Hilltoppers dropped their second straight game in blowout fashion to No.2 Georgia 70-20, in a game that saw the Bulldogs impose their will all game. Read more by Jonah Moore
WKU Volleyball goes 2-1 in the Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic

WKU Volleyball goes 2-1 in the third annual Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic, defeating Pepperdine, James Madison University, and falling to Eastern Kentucky University. The Hilltoppers battled all weekend long, with two four-set matches and a five-set thriller against JMU. “Great weekend overall, disappointing ending,” Head Coach Travis Hudson said. “Our team just hasn’t been able to sustain things.” Read more by Morgan Larkins and Peyton Reid
WKU Soccer ends road trip in tie against Lipscomb University

WKU Soccer tied against Lipscomb University 1-1 in the Hilltoppers ’ third straight game on the road. The Hilltoppers started the game on defense, with two goal kicks from redshirt senior goalie Mia Riddick. Riddick continued to bat off shots from Lipscomb’s players, but the Hilltoppers found their offensive start with a shot on goal by senior midfielder Georgia Liapis almost three minutes in. Journalist Shane Bauer to receive Fleischaker/Greene Award
Join the WKU School of Media and Communication in recognizing the 2026 recipient of the Fleischaker/Greene Award for Courageous International Reporting on Sept. 14. The award will be presented to Journalist Shane Bauer in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences auditorium in Gary Ransdell Hall at 5 p.m. on Monday. Mahurin Honors College emphasizes connection at inaugural convocation

The Mahurin Honors College gathered its scholars on Friday for its inaugural honors convocation in the Downing Student Union auditorium. “We’re really trying to introduce a new era of honors,” said MHC Director Lindy Davidson. “The whole theme of this convocation is about connecting.” Read more by Sofia Sweazy
