Entrepreneurs get ‘Taylor-made’ lessons on authentic leadership

Guest Speaker, WKU Assistant Professor Mariah Yates, shared a presentation on what business leaders can learn from pop culture during the monthly “Strong Community, Strong Coffee” meeting Thursday.

Yates taught the class “Entrepreneurial Leadership Through the Lens of Taylor Swift,” using her book “Swift Leadership, a Taylor-made Approach to Influence and Decision Making,” as curriculum material. She attended the meeting as a guest speaker to share some of the points from her book to local business owners.

‘Happy to have the club back’: WKU Rec Club relaunches with lawn games

Cornhole, Kanjam and giant Jenga filled the lawn outside Normal and Regents Halls Thursday evening during a meeting of WKU’s Rec Club.

Though the original date on Sept. 2 was rained out, the club didn’t let the postponement dampen their spirits as beautiful weather, drinks and snacks tied together a first event that featured lots of conversation, and drew in passersby.

WKU Soccer ends in stalemate versus Austin Peay

WKU Soccer’s battle with Austin Peay resulted in a 0-0 draw Thursday night.

Freshman forward Matea Bradfield found herself with a chance to make a game-winning shot to bring it home for the Lady Toppers in the final stages. A series of saves from Austin Peay sophomore goalkeeper Ari Allen prevented the Lady Toppers from breaking the tie.

WKU Volleyball travels to Tennessee for ETSU Tournament

WKU Volleyball continues its road trip this weekend, traveling to Tennessee for the ETSU tournament.

The Hilltoppers are coming off the Marquette Invitational, where they split the weekend 1-1. WKU swept then 25th-ranked Dayton 3-0 before falling to tournament host Marquette in a sweep.

The Hilltoppers were led by sophomore outside hitter Alivia Skidmore. Skidmore led the way for WKU in both games, with 14 and 16 kills, respectively.
