Previously closed Normal and Regents halls welcome students
Students start moving into Normal and Regents Halls on Thursday, Aug. 13.
Students have begun moving into the previously shut-down Normal and Regents halls a year ahead of schedule. “I think what I love so much is just seeing the excitement from the students and parents who are moving in,” Catherine LaRoche, executive director of Housing and Residence Life, said. Former defensive lineman sues NCAA following loss of scholarship from WKU
Victory Vaka, WKU’s former defensive lineman removed from the team after a two-month absence following the death of his mother, filed a lawsuit against the NCAA.
Senior Vaka filed the lawsuit on Aug. 5 for a temporary restraining order allowing him to transfer and use his last year of player eligibility, according to an article by CBS Sports. Read more by Diego Alcaraz-Monje
WKU Soccer opens season against Missouri

WKU Soccer will kick off the 2026 season tonight as they welcome the Missouri Tigers. The Hilltoppers come off their best season since 2021 where they finished 9-5-3 and took home a share of the Conference USA regular-season championship, splitting it with Liberty. WKU is ranked fourth in the preseason CUSA standings, behind Liberty, Missouri State and Delaware. Read more by Peyton Reid
Liverpool Legends to bring “the magic of The Beatles” to the Capitol

Liverpool Legends, the Grammy-nominated Beatles show that has encapsulated the sound and spirit of the Beatles since 2005, will take the stage at The Capitol on Aug. 13. Marty Scott, Liverpool Legends’ George Harrison and lead guitarist, has been a fan since he was stealing Beatles records from his sister as a kid. See more by Diego Alcaraz-Monje
