Kappa Sigma sanctioned by WKU after hazing incident

The Theta-Theta chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity has lost university recognition following a hazing incident in the 2025 fall semester, University Spokesperson Jace Lux said in an email to the Herald.
Kentucky bill threatens tenured positions at universities
As House Bill 490 nears passage in the Kentucky legislature, alarm bells have been raised as to what this could mean for professors with tenured positions.

The bill adds verbiage to Kentucky law, which would allow public universities to remove tenured faculty members due to financial exigency (emergency), low enrollment in a degree program or misalignment of revenue.

Board of Commissioners calls special meeting to address vacancies
The Bowling Green Board of Commissioners appointed several city employees Thursday at a specially-called meeting.
The board appointed the athletics coordinator and parks facility maintainer I positions in the parks and recreation department. The board also selected or reappointed members of historic preservation board, urban growth design review board and the Hobson House Commission.

WKU Men’s Basketball junior guard Jack Edelen entered the transfer portal, according to a post he made on X.
